So i'm think i'm quite confident with ableton 9 plugins, and I'm looking for an upgrade, i was checking http://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-everything-bundle/ lately i think it's a nice bundle with nice price. However i want to hear your opinion and recommendations before taking next step.

Are you looking for fx?

If so, the Soundtoys bundle is a no brainer but I'd wait until it goes on Sale (probably Easter) and you'll get it a lot cheaper.

I'm all right with fc, i can get the sound i want from ableton, however i'm looking for more sound design, eq and mastering plugins. On splice there's a deal with ozone8 you can rent it for 9quid monthly, however i'm not quite sure about it

There are so many plugins, it's basically impossible to answer that question without specification. Try having a look at the KVR database, they list all the most popular plugins: https://www.kvraudio.com/plugins/vst-pl ... st-popular

UAD and Fabfilter do some real nice plugs when it comes to EQs, compressors etc..

Some of the Waves stuff is good as well.

I tend to avoid bundles. I like getting individual plugins as i can pick and choose what i really need.

Exactly.

What fx are you looking for?

and "upgrade" is subjective depending on the effect.

The Rocket isn't really free, has an unlimited trial though if you can live with the reminder every time you use it.

If you really don't want to pay for it there's plenty of free ones to try, Roughrider by AD to smash shit up, Molot for something more versatile, and if you run windows you can also try JScompshaper and the Leslie Sanford freeware for reverb and delay. With some of the other free/cheap options mentioned you can always demo paid plugins and compare to see if you really need them. At least that's what I'd do if money was tight.

I like the rocket but it doesn't do anything I'd pay for.

Hell, ableton's built-in glue compressor is mostly all I ever need.

Can't agree more, it's so true. It's so simple to use and those 3rd programs, tooo confusing... just tried few of them. Naaah
