2 VCOs plus 1 digital oscillator. Stereo outs (WUT). Heaps of features. Sounds pretty damned good to me.

Was about to post this
Daym.

http://www.korg.com/uk/products/synthesizers/prologue/

Comes in 8 and 16 voice versions.

Whilst Roland lays in its back and pisses on itself, Korg seems to be doing the do.

User customisable digital oscillator is interesting, and the open architecture 32bit floating point fx means user defined new FX in the future.
Who knows where that could lead?

Apparently there is architecture from the monologue and the minilogue in there.
The mini is a modern classic. It all pins on the sound, but so far demos sound good, and korgs analog oscillators so far have all had that certain something.

Desktop version would be nice.

I still might go for the deepmind desktop though. We'll see what the price point is as Korg tend to be pretty smart with that.

Price is rumored to be $1500 (8 voice) and $2000 (16 voice). Same price in Euros. No rumor of price in pounds, though.

I was dead set on a Rev-2 when I get back to LA, but now I'm wondering if this might be even better. Basically everything I'm iffy about on the Minilogue has been addressed on this one, and there's a shit ton of extra stuff too. The effects are crazy good for on-board effects on a hardware synth. I'll need to mess around with one and a Rev-2 and see which one gives me the feels. But man, this is is exciting.

...and yes, Roland should be shitting themselves. All that history and innovation, and they won't make the one thing people really want them to make: a new, proper analog poly synth.

Roland should be shitting on their Boutiques indeed!
Korg obviously has something going on with that Prologue; people are asking for that for a long time.
Bit of a shame that it has only one lfo!

Might not be an issue, depends how the open architecture fx thing works out.

I understand what you mean Steve but in that case open architecture can also be tricky because it can also mean it's unfinished... .
It's the new tendency to quickly release unfinished stuff and try to fix the issues afterwards.

I only ever use one LFO anyway, though obviously that might change at some point.

Its not unfinished though, it comes with fx already, there is simply room for additions and user customization.
Open architecture means just that, personally I find that interesting.

Another good video. I'll admit I have almost sexual feelings about this synth.

This looks really great. Chord memory, instant favourite patch recall etc. Korg are handling analogue architecture in a very modern logical way. Not for mere nostalgia.
Prologue or Minilogue in rack/desktop version would be amazing.

Korg listening to their customers, and I imagine knocking it out of the ballpark again. Sounds lovely. I see myself selling my mini to fund this...

Making it somewhat open source with a coming SDK, makes a programmer like me really wet. Good one Korg, once again way ahead of the competition.
