Given that this forum is like the unofficial Satson fanclub, this will probably be interesting to some people :D I have not tried it yet but I have been looking for a nice, versatile, parametric analog style EQ.

Interested! Really like those smooth high and lowpass filters in Satson.

Would also like to know how it performs compared with Slate Digital ones...

I did an A/B test today. The Slate EQ is modelled after the brown version I think. At first I though the Slate one sounded a bit better but if you play around with the Q of the Sonimus one a bit you can make them sound almost identical. Plus the Sonimus one has LP/HP filters, drive knob, more flexible frequency bands and you don't have to deal with Steven Slate. Nobrainer.

I pulled the trigger on the StonEQ. The black/brown Q option is really nice, more musical for boosting and more surgical for cutting. The bands are designed really well, with most "analog" designed EQs I find myself reaching for Ableton's EQ8 anyways because they don't do what I want to do but the bands on the StonEQ cover pretty much every typical use case except for extremly narrow notching (909 ride resonance for example). The drive adds a bit of edge and interacts with the EQ in a nice way, especially if you boost.

Thank you very much for the detailed comparison!

I've been using this as my main eq now for a couple of months, great sound. So quick and simple to dial settings in that work. The saturation is really nice as well as are the hp and lp filters. This and TuCo make an amazing combo.

Sometime soon this will be released in a sonimus channel strip that combines the eq, satson and a new ssl style comp from them. Highly likely I'll be picking that up as their stuff is great, so useful and light on cpu as well. I don't usually get excited about software coming out but I am about this!

not sure if anyone has tried them, but i'm pretty impressed with the "channel strips" that Arturia released a few months back:

https://www.arturia.com/products/softwa ... e/overview

got them for a ridiculous price (along with the three filter emulations) when they were released. check pricing if you've got any Arturia stuff already, even the freebies.
