Slam / Sam Paganini techno stabs... how to?

Hey,

been struggling since a while to get stabs as in this track:

Also heard them in quite a few tracks of Slam etc...

Tried 303 vst's with some fx, bells, Ableton's Corpus, even pitching toms, with partially nice results, but never quite nailed creating stabs like the above.

Ideas?

that's not a stab. a stab it's a chord with very short decay and unsustained..

what u are looking for might be very close with a 303 and it's monophonic. I can feel a bell EQ on a certain freq. also a huge HPF and LPF. it's compressed as fck. try and come back.

thx. been fiddling with 303 + corpus a bit more and came close already. gonna try some more eq-ing and compression as well.

yeah, you could do this with a 303. Or any square wave based osc.
Chorus is your friend here.

Sounds like there is distortion and or saturation going on, maybe try parrallel hard distortion settings via bus. And some reverb to blend it nicely in the mix.
