Elektronauts topic is exploding: https://www.elektronauts.com/t/octatrac ... /41245/247

I dont want to get my hopes up for now, though it does make sense as the current os is maxes out due to hardware limitations

Oke so its simply a hardware makeover. Some additional buttona for a mote streamlined workflow.

No OB planned and the same OS As mk1

That's a bit of a let down, I guess the clue is in the fact that's it's a MK2 and not an Octatrack 2. Still, at the very least I would have expected Overbridge support, and maybe a few more output channels.

Elektron missing the boat on loads of new features here, I even prefer the older aesthetic too!

This was inevitable, the physical upgrades are nice I think.
But why oh why is it shitty Digitwat grey? Now Elektron have 2 devices that look like crappy science calculators.
So. Fucking. Ugly.

I did not expect this and wonder if they'll do that to the A4 and Rytm too.

Seems likely, they would want to standardize componennts, from a manufacturing pov.

At Thomann the Analog 4 is for sale at €899 (!!!) now.
Rytm will be back in stock end August, when OT MKII will be shipped.
Now I think both are getting the facelift and will be shown at Summer NAMM.

As I still have not bought a Rytm seems like it'll be MKII.

Interesting.
Does that mean the whole line will be accountant grey?
That would fucking suck.

Urgh, so fucking ugly, looks like an accountants tool, or some medical equipment.
I mean, Elektron stuff has never been pretty, it's always been pretty functional.
But my god, first the Digitwat and now this.
Grey is so uninspiring.
The colour of tedium and vacuity.
The black series was sexier.

Also the picture you linked is wrong

THIS is the new Octatrack MK2 accountants ledger inspection calculator.

no, just showing that the OT had this exact same color scheme in the first place. years ago.

I have no idea.
But I must admit I don't dislike the grey as much as you do. 8-)

Ooh sense of humour failure
You're an accountant, that's why you like grey, aha.
How much do you spend on dominatrixes to tell you to lick the toilet bowl clean like a good boy whilst you wear a school boy uniform?
You accountants are all the same.

Buonacc, was trying to point out that the original prototype of the OT mk1 was grey back in 2010. Not black.

Fwiw, im not to keen om the grey either. Though I find the black digitakt to be the sexiest one yet. First thing that i noticed om the OTmk2 is that the composition of thw buttons seem to far to the edges if you look at the space around the screen. Just nitpicking though, but i cant unsee it.

It doesn't have to stay grey when you buy it...

Yeah I know. Thank fuck they avoided it and settled on black in the end.
I think elektrons new owner used to be an accountant.

So with the Digitwat they did partner in accountancy firm dark grey suit
Then with the Octa it's large accountancy conglomerate senior accounts manager medium grey.
Then maybe the A4 will be released in 1980s city insurance firm, office floor general accounting drone light grey.

Then maybe the RYTM will be Japanese post suicide import export accounts salary man lightest grey with patches of sweat.
