Sequence - What Am I Doing Wrong

Post by MattAltmanMusic »

So I've spent the last couple of days trying to get a similar arp sound to the main sequence in "Effect 2" - Tensal. I made an organ typed sound in Operator with Resonators, Distortion, and a little bit crushing and I got closer, but still very far off. Any tips or advice on how to get closet to this sound? Also played around with some sequences in Tal-Bassline with similar processing and still no dice. Thank you!

Think you're making your life too complex.

I'm hearing a pretty standard filtered and saturated saw-based synth line with an EQ sweeping through the mids. and something like a cowbell accentuating the low note.

Nothing really to add but this sequence of him is 10/10 if you ask me:

I get that they're supposed to be DJ tools but still, most of the Tensal stuff is super boring IMO. I much prefer the older Exium stuff.

I like the vibe of tensal's tracks and would only play them for a short while, but I have been avoiding them lately because I tried to play one at a club night a little while ago and the bass sounded very muddy on the (not optimal) soundsystem.

This worked, and got pretty damn close. Thank you so much!
