How to make this specific "bass pluck" sound?
How to make this specific "bass pluck" sound?
Hi all,
This is a sound I have been trying to create for a long time now but never quite got there.
Anyone know how to do this "bassy pluck" for lack of a better name: https://youtu.be/ge9EB4vJ_ZE?t=1m5s
All help would be much appreciated.
Cheers!

Intrusav. Man.. now how is that helpful to anyone? Genuinely??
It's a nice sound
---------
It's a specific sound IMO. You'll get something similar on the Roland stuff.. Sh101, Mc202 & Juno 106, possibly.
It reminds me off the old hollow bass sound that you get using the sub oscilator only, turning down all the other sliders.
You can get sonewhere similar with TAL's UNO62. Don't bother even trying their old free sh101 baseline synth, it's not even on the same planet as the 101. The UNO is quality.
Just pull down the cut off. Bit of res maybe. Add some envelope to the cut off from the VCA adsr. Note is A2 I reckon.

Thanks! I use the Roland Cloud stuff a lot so this will be perfect. Will try to use these settings in those plugins
but it's a very specific sound for sure. Cheers

Yeah, I know...
I had just finished replying in that other distorted kick post and then this cropped up!
Out of interest I checked and the guy has 11 posts and they're all "How do I..." and thought fuck me...
In fairness, the other answer I had lined up was "Have you tried scrolling through your presets?"
So, instead, I kept it 'light'
Def sticky territory though.

@Wayfinder! This is exactly why I like subsekt. An amazingly detailed tutorial on how to make the sound, no bs. Big thanks!
Re: How to make this specific "bass pluck" sound?
Yeah I knew this thread had the potential to become a real mine field but things are going better than expected right now. Also, I don't really use presets since I try to create most of my sounds from scratch. That's why I'm interested in the actual architecture of the sound itself. But fair enough, most threads that start with "how to make this sound?" are from oblivious people who use nothing but presets and don't even bother searching the forum first. So I know why you guys expect the worst from this sort of topic.intrusav wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:24 amYeah, I know...

Re: How to make this specific "bass pluck" sound?
Sounds like a DX preset to me
In this context I`m fairly willing to bet a body part that the producer has used a one shot sample.
It`s almost like a donk, some chorus is involved.

It sounds nice with the chorus in Uno62.
