Just figured this out, with Operator if you have your oscillator phase retrigger disabled while doing FM you get continually changing timbres for free.

Osc retriggering is one of these things that I've discovered is easy to overlook. Operator's a particularly good example even just in the troubleshooting sense (I've scratched my head for ages wondering why my notes are getting cut off or clicking etc then realised it's the little R...), but it's also the kind of thing you might forget to turn either on or off when getting a pad or stab or percussive sound or whatever to sound right.Oktagon wrote:Just figured this out, with Operator if you have your oscillator phase retrigger disabled while doing FM you get continually changing timbres for free.
And re. the discussion a couple of pages ago - fuck cancer indeed, good friend of mine just got diagnosed at age 37, thankfully it's early and confined enough that the most likely outcome is she'll be fine after a fairly intense course of radiotherapy and surgery but still fucking scary, and this is of a rare type that's pretty unsymptomatic at this point and people don't often notice it til it's spread substantially.

I don't usually drink coffee for work, but drinking coffee for music production really helps me concentrate. And also gain staging.

did your friend have a scan of her bones (not sure if that's how you call it in English, but yeah).disparate wrote:Osc retriggering is one of these things that I've discovered is easy to overlook. My sister got diagnosed at age 34.
They did not do that scan.
If they would have, they would have known she had metastases everywhere.
In her case, it was probably better, because she lived another 3 years, and at least 2 of these, she thought she would still get better.
But I heard this situation happen before a few times.
One woman I went to university with, told me like 2 years ago she had cancer, and I asked her that same question,
nope, they hadn't done that. About 6 months later, she was still feeling something was wrong, though they couldn't find anything.
She remembered my story and demanded a bone scan.
Yeah...
I really really felt like an asshole when she told me, but on the other hand, if I hadn't told her,
they would have probably found out so much later...
Get the bone scan.
Or live in the knowledge that you could still be told it can all be ok and suddenly, you're seriously fucked.

Always hire a ghost producer and pay big money to proper promotion agencies to make you rise to the main stage line ups within a year!

I should have ran for president of the USA instead of trying to make music.

tip of the century :
test your mixes out in space,
if they sound like crap over there,
no matter what you pay your mastering dude, it's gonna be money thrown away for sure

Don't go to Bottomless Brunches. You'll be sending "U up?" texts at 1pm and be in the Kebab shop by 2pm.
