I never even noticed the word "competition" in there up till now.
I just somehow read "remix thing".
let's just do a remix of someone's track.

I mean, it's not like we even had a price to win...

or wait, if this were some kind of tombola, I'd put Pedro's ass up as a price !! :D

barely been abused at all ! 8-)

not that I'm a sucker for self promo, but I did make a live pack for subsekt a few months ago,
containing tons of parts.
still available for those interested.

Another remix challange? Cool, why the hell not?

I think you should consider two options through;

1 The "ideal" option; where all parts are organized, tidy, complete and easy to use right away

or

2 The "realistic" option; where parts are small, cut short, messy and all over the place

In the real world option 1 never really happens so if you want my, quite experienced input on the matter, option 2 is to prefer if you want it
to be as authentic and realistically challenging as possible.

The Stonesthrow forum has a pretty good thread where the guys are running a weekly challenge. Rules are minimal, tracks are kept short (usually 2 mins max cos it can be a lot to get through all the tracks) and whoever takes part gets to vote on their fav. It works out good. The winner sticks up a new sample to work with. Could see that working here. It's a good exercise. Can get you into hyperdrive and trying to improve all the time ..

Never done any remix work so I'm down for this. Whatever the modalities are, count me in :)

The input is appreciated, but would you be willing to put up a track as well? If not we are going with one of Hades tracks.

Oh, and if the rest if you are too scared of a little competition I'm cool with just remixing the track and giving each other feedback instead ;).

Well, I dig a lot of your tracks and would understand if you don't want to make some of them public. So any track would be good really, but if it were up to me to pick:

-The Science Beyond
-Consumed for profit

That track you made for Subsekt would be really good as well.

I'll see what I can do. The Science Beyond is more recent, I should have it intact.

though I'd love to try my hand at one of Mattias' tracks, I gotta say :
wasn't there already a remix of one of Mattias' tracks a while ago on subsekt ?

Getting multiple submissions at this point I think does confuse the issue.

I think we just need one track and a submission date. Hades, i think you were the first to come forward and be willing to submit a track so I'd be happiest to go with one of your tracks. If we have more willing volunteers, i'd say lets be optimistic and save them for the next one.

Our main challenge is to actaully get people to have a crack at the remix and submit on time I would say. (probably where previous attempts fell apart).

whatever you guys chose is fine by me. :)
but if you do want to try remixing one of my tracks,
I think I can't really decide which one, right ?
Mattias can do that with his tracks, but if I would do this with one of my tracks,
I'd totally feel like some ego tripper.

right now we're kind of coming across as a bunch of women in front of the shoe store :
"hmmm, maybe this, maybe that, urrmm.... I could use 3 new pairs of high heels, right ? and another pair of sandals ?
sandals always go well with skirts in summer... but maybe ???"

Maybe someone just has to start making decisions so we get this thing rolling.

then finally ask your mrs what to do,
while she's taking out the trash because you forgot to do so, again...

Would be cool to put the "best" 3-4 on a digital ep. Then there would be a common goal like the members track podcast.

Good for the teamspirit and subsektbrothercunt909dickslapmillsmovement

Gotta love the patience here...

That "someone" in your reply is at this moment only me or Mattias (afaik).
As I said above : I would feel a bit awkward to choose one of my tracks myself,
I'd rather have you guys decide, since I am willing to make all of my tracks (except one) available,
if the subsekt community wants to do this.

If you decide on one of my tracks, it'll only be a matter of hours before I provide a d/l link.
However, things could get more practical if I could make a Live pack instead of just the stems,
but all of that is pretty much trivial if you just want the d/l link asap and be done with it.

In that case, I'd go for "Song For Patroclus (Extended Mix)" - does that work for you/everyone else?
