Morning, noon or night??

No, I'm not talking about the other thing we all like to do - but just wondering if you find the time of day when producing affects the final result. I generally only get to produce at night after the kids are in bed, but occasionally when I get to produce during the day, it feels a bit weird - like I'm not "meant" to be making techno during the day. Maybe that's just because I don't do it very often. I also haven't experienced a lot of day raves/parties, so maybe only really consuming techno at night has influenced how it feels when I make it at different times of the day.

Bit of a strange topic but I thought I'd see what you all think.

I find I've been most productive during the day when I can have a proper session with a bit of volume. I've definitely worked at night too but being able to listen at a decent volume on speakers has an effect on my productivity. I also intend for a lot of my music to be played in the day so I don't feel totally wrong about it.

When life or the mood dictates. Ear's tire throughout the day though so if I have a mixdown to do I'll try and schedule that in for a 9am start.

Same same. Unfortunately (in this case) for a fair amount of the year the weather here is pretty good. Plus the kids don't sleep that well. Prob why I look like a meth addict these days - but would be worse if it wasn't for all the sunshine!

Either morning or night. When I use to do mornings I would wake up with some fresh ideas along with some caffeine. And night when i'm about to pass out cause i'm not forcing an idea, just doing whatever I like and sounds good.

I usually have some ideas while i'm busy in the day, so I just lay them down before I forget them and get to work on it at night

Any time of day is good for me although I often get a second wind late at night. Around the time I feel like going to bed because I feel wrecked from slugging away at something for hours, something will emerge and start taking shape in a way I wouldn't have considered possible in a 'normal' and more 'sober' frame of mind. Still, that's just the creative aspect, I'd never do any critical listenin/mixing late at night.

Am I the only one that prefers making music in the day? I like looking outside the window, if anything inspires me it's always the colour of the sky. That said, if it's a track with a kind of sleazy or dark vibe I prefer making it at night. I really like making music on hot sommer nights.

I could produce any time of day but I feel like I make the best stuff late at night after I've been up extra long, it just feels like when my brain is tired out I get more creative. I usually go back the next day and do a final mix and master and make small changes after I've had a night to sleep on the track as well.
