buying used monitors - good idea?
Re: buying used monitors - good idea?
Stores sucks for testing. Do it at your own place if possible.
I'm also in the not-a-fan-of-genelec corner. They got a very special tone. Never tried their better speakers though, might be much different there.

The high end, main room and midfield Genelecs are great.
They do what a lot of pro-audio companies do, and try to cram their mainroom tech down into nearfields.
The new M040`s are nice, they really hold together in the lows in speed response.
I`d like to hear the new 3-way coaxial jobbie they do, I didn`t demo them when I was shopping for new nearfields, don`t think they were out at the time, it seems like it might be a bit of gimmick over quality, but it certainly seems interesting.

I have an old pair of Edirol MA-15Ds I no longer need if anyone wants them? Happy to sell super cheap plus tracked shipping. These ones:

Gonna keep the kh 120. they sound great and for my small room absolutely sufficient. missing sub seems to be a good thing as there is far less rumble in my room. just can't stand that the stands (which I would like to have but don't want to spend the money) are like 130 per stand which is ridiculous. the sub 7 that was in the package goes off to eBay.
