You know, I've supported Elektron since very early days. It was a genuine boutique company back then, and the price reflected that, but you felt like part of a small club (which you were).
They are a bigger company now, and by no means are they a boutique company, but their prices have never changed, they have always remained premium, despite shifting waaay more units.
Now they do stuff like this.
I dunno, it has nothing to do with entitlement, I just like em less than I did.
I fully understand that opinion.

I'm not a Elektron user atm but I'm still looking forward to get the Analog Rytm and the Heat, which will happen during this year.

This may be what I've been looking for, i.e. something that can control my hardware synths without a computer and also integrate my hardware synths with a computer without having to also use an interface.

Then again, I'm new to using a hardware sampler/sequencer with a DAW. When I had an MPC, I did not have it hooked up to the computer. Then when I started using Cubase and Reason (and later Logic), I wasn't using a hardware sampler/sequencer. And tbh, I hadn't really used any hardware at all between 2006 and 2015. So my setup/connections knowledge is a bit rusty.

Looking at the MIDI (thru, out, in)...I could easily control 2 hardware synths with this thing, right?
In theory you could do 8, though the audio/midi dont overlap like on the OT. So its or/or not and/and.

for 830 you could do better man, the sampler is mono and there seems to be no slicing, timestretching etc so loops are out of the question.

you could even get a seocnd hand OT for 850.
What other options would you recommend, other than the OT? Less than 850 = a plus :P

That's what I'd call Digifucked.

I don't use Ableton, but Push 2 looks quite cool.

I'm definitely interested in these new Akais.

I am considering Analog Rytm to pair with the Cirklon I got recently, but it'd be good to have more sampling capabilities rather than just drum machine with sampling. The Akai could be just the thing cos it looks like it's a bit more flexible.

Elektron announced updates for the rytm, mainly easier sample management. not sure sampling will ever be included, but who knows.

I'm very happy with mine.

spec wise the akai is amaizing, I'd need to let more experienced dudes try it out before i know what is what.

Obviously akais got a history, who knows this might be spot on.

That was what I was thinking as well when looking at the new pricetag of the Digitakt.

That's the problem with all that product hyping nowadays. They make promises with half developed products and afterward need to come back at those (and disappointed some people).

This was the final push I needed to shell out for a Rytm. Nice one :D

Nice dude, happy for you, I got mine at bax too with 15% off. Payed 1050 in the end for a new unit.

maybe we should jam out some time.

rytmXrytm

I need to confess, in the heat of the moment I pre-ordered a DT. The fact that it had the initial price 650, while all the stores already changed to 770. And the fact that they had 10% off was to much i guess

I am greedy little bitch.

Crazy. Polymetric tracks, microtiming, trig conditions, randomize all parameters and all of that via midi out too.

In all honesty, I preordered one a long time ago.

There was this 10% at bax, next to that they were offering it for the old price(650). So I managed to preorder it for 585 euros incl tax.

I was using my rytm for mostly samples anyways.
