Arturia Keystep / 37 / Pro. Who has one?
Re: Arturia Keystep / 37 / Pro. Who has one?
Thats interesting about the pro. Not the first person I've seen saying some of those exact same things man. Thanks for that. Hard to believe tbh
37 looks like a decent buy.. Still like the multi channel setup of the pro. Might hold off a bit longer & see how the updates go. All the feedback seems to be pointing that way

Re: Arturia Keystep / 37 / Pro. Who has one?
i know right... I was in the market for a sequencer and I was between the eurorack Hermod Sequencer by Squarp and the KeyStep Pro. I found the KeyStep Pro easily here in Brazil at the time and the Hermod I'd have to wait the overseas shipping plus a huge chance to pay a hefty amount of tax duties, so I went for the KSP.Críoch wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 10:32 pmThats interesting about the pro. Only to discover that two months later a german friend of mine moved to Brazil and was selling locally his Hermod for much less than the retail price...
Anyway, having said all that: I have plenty of fun with the KSP. It's definitely an immediate sequencer, easy to use, not much of a learning curve, it's all simple there and it's really useful to have it in my studio, you can do a lot with it. But it definitely could be improved in the firmware department.

OK..
Arturia appear to have been busy AF on a 2.0 update for the KSP & initial reports re: bugfixes / requested features etc.. seem to be what was required to make the thing function properly.
Anyone here get to dl the 2.0 yet & can give an opinion on the before vs. the after?

I got it, for me everything I had as a complaint was solved and some other things improved in a great way. Just remember to restore to factory defaults after the update or it's gonna be buggy. But for me this upgrade brought this machine to a whole other level.Críoch wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 10:24 amOK..

Maybe you'll be next.
Any major glitches you're hating with it? From what I've read, tHe KSP needed this update badly.

Keystep 37 here. I was more impressed by the mini form factor and rugged build quality for a midi keyboard. However, its been sitting in my closet after just one use. Keeping it though just in case I need a basic keyboard ever, but never has happened once. I got excited to see it had CV outs the other day but then was let down by the fact I couldn't separate the gate and pitch into separate tracks (I think 37 only allows for one sequence, pro allows for up to 4). Ended up ordering a CV.OCD for what I want to do.

Just a thought, and particularly useful for anybody concerned about the space the KSP takes up, you could try the Twisted Electrons Crazy 8 Sequencer. 4 polyphonic tracks, 4 CV/Gate tracks and clock sync, so quite similar, but really small.
