I can notice the 15k.. after that, nothing :D Tried 2 headphones. One I can hear 15k and the other 14k.

I'm 35 by the way so I guess no damage (which surprises me actually).

I don't know if that counts Mslwte. I guess it does, I tried doing that only to discover my left ear can hear up to 15k and my right 14k. (yeah I'm old) Hmmm. Damaged ear from djing I assume. What can I say, techno sounds better loud :)

Last time I went to an ear-specialist it turned out I had like 20% less in the middle frequencies on my right ear.
I always say it's cause when I drive somewhere with the mrs, it's me driving and her next to me.
Obviously, I would have lost that 20% in my left ear if I'd been living in England/Japan/Australia/India/...
(damn, just looking that up : there are quite a few countries with left side driving, them idiots !) :D

I was perusing the common causes of hearing loss due to `noise-induced - prolonged exposure to loud noises, which generally starts at 4000khz` during a work meeting (of course) and it came up with a few general things such as lawnmowers, telephones, industrial machinery, leaf blowers, chain saws, industrial noise, hair dryers, weapons, and recorded and live music. Obviously the last one is avoidable, not that I would want to, however when applying the above examples to the mrs, well...she can can pretty much cover the entire range of them depending on her mood. Either way... I`m fooked.

This might be useful for those who are comparing monitoring headphones, or if you are like me and living in a shoe box apartment with thin walls.

If like me you're looking to gain a better understanding of using EQ and compression, i thought these two articles explained them well. They use pictures, which always helps me a lot. I'm still waiting for a pop-up book on music production.
