Not really a tutorial but pointblank is doing these videos called producer profiles, pretty cool to see what gear artists are using and how they use them! This video features Excercise one, enjoy!youtu.be/5x5RdPxEhCM

Not sure if this one has been posted before, but I've been getting annoyed with having all my drumrack parts in a single clip. This is how to have a clip per drum part:-

Nick Maxwell (from NicksTutorials.com) has started a new series on unscripted sound design. I've watched a couple so far and they're really good...

Techno reverb kick done the right way. Note that the asshole is clipping the hole time and doesn't care about adjusting the sidechain properly. But the idea of the convo is simple and cool. I prefer to do it copying the channel and leaving the original untouched. Seems to give me more control over the sound and the levels to me.

Anyone has been experimenting with the predelay to sync it to 8ths o 4ths? It doesn't seem to give me a noticeable difference

Tip: check the 20-100 range with a multiband eq (ff pro-mb) or something to don't go too wild theese lows. It helps a ton to me for adjusting the balance between kick and bass.

Don't post on this board too much although I often lurk as its one of my go-to sites when I need some inspiration. Anyways, I stumbled across this tutorial on turning Operator into a 303 clone earlier today and thought you guys may find it of some use...

youtu.be/B7CeQewh4_k

Haven't actually had time to try it for myself but going off the video it sounds ok. Definitely not a 100% perfect 303 re-creation but if you're after something that sounds reasonably acidy and can be tweeked loads from there (the patch itself only uses 1 of Operators oscillators) it seems worth a shot.

Hope somebody finds it useful and I apologise if it's already been posted.

All the best, Tom.

Cool, thanks Tom. Really like operator a lot now. Used to think it was v.user unfriendly & cryptic, but if you sit down with it and follow a few patches, its actually quite a straightforward beast.

The distortion settings in it are very nice.

No worries.

Yeah, i like Operator a lot too. Most synth stuff I do atm is on ABL2 as I'm a massive acid head but when its time to go for something different, Operator is the first place I look. As you say, it seems complicated at first but (imo) Operator and FM synthesis in general is pretty simple stuff once you know the basics. And once you do, the amount of options available make those few hours of learning well worth it.

Have you met Mike Huckaby ?!? Doesn't matter... in this first video he informs you that YOU are a bitch. That's right, while you are making 1 track he is making several or hundreds beyotch!

A 2 part vid. I know from FB he stated he learned Reaktor as nobody in Detroit seemed to be interested. Spent a few months going through every single page of the manual to learn it. Sound sucks in spots...

I can't find the vid where he samples harmonics from rocks that he collected at Pyramids in Egypt and then turns it some chords.
