Re: Techno Music Production Videos (Please post YT links etc.. )
Heres a collection of videos I'm working on for the techno production subreddit. Theres at least 4 more videos to come (currently 6 online), going through making a track from start to finish. Its basically a bunch of sound design techniques and some useful info about audio/effects/music. Enjoy

I found this Tom Hades masterclass interesting, especially the polyrhythms part:

Has anyone seen this yet? I feel like he does a good job at explaining his techniques in an easy-to-follow manner.

When I saw this discussion, I was about to link the same video haha !!! Amazing. I saw it yesterday it is a very great video, and his workflow is a good mixture of a technical aspect and an experimenting one, it is very interesting how you can appropriate different mediums and work with your knowledge, intuition, and personal feeling. Phase Fatale has definitely opened a door to techno for me, when I saw him opening for The Soft Moon, like 5 or 6 years ago. Very humble of him that he shared his techniques on this track, that is my favorite of his latest album.Amøbe wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 3:19 pmHas anyone seen this yet? OK nowt to do with techno. BUT for anyone that likes messing with guitar pedals this guy is great. Been watching loads of these this week.
He's called Josh, he owns JHS pedals and you can tell he just loves guitar pedals. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of pedals and their history, he often gives praise to competitors and other pedals, he doesn't overdo the plugging of his own pedals and he can even play guitar pretty good.
He does vids on the history of certain effects and often explains things in an easy going manner. He also doesn't subscribe to pedal myths like recreations or clones are always crap, thru hole is better than SMT etc.
Here's the channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/jhspedals/videos
And here are some of the vids I've enjoyed.

This reminded me of something I read, can't remember which producer it was, but apparently he made a big sign and put it on the wall of his studio that read "It's the melody, stupid".

Maybe someone already mentioned this one, but it's completely new to me..
Stumbled upon this guy yesterday as I was looking for way how others approach mixing kick and bass...
... When I got over his accent, I realised how good it is. Basically, all he uses are Ableton stock plugins (hence the channel name) but it's sounding really good. Most shocking realization for me how simple stuff works really well in context of techno. Don't get me wrong, stuff he makes its not really my cup of tea, but how it sounds without fancy VSTs and arcane combination of expensive plugins is just baffling.
And for some reason, he puts everything in racks, and then offers them for free.
Odd fella, but I like it.
**off to make SNTS wannabe banger**

I have recently found this channel from Yan Cook and he gives interesting tips on creating basslines, pads, patterns,... I find it very handy when looking for inspiration.
