Roland SP-404
Anyone use Rolands SP-404 here?
looks like it could be fun but would it be fun after an hour?
Half thinking about picking one up and lookin for some feedback on it.

They are solid little boxes. For close to the same price you can also get a 606 which is better. If it's portability you want though, it's hard to beat. I think it's most useful to go with a DJ set so you can maybe add your own sounds and effects, but you can definitely use it as a traditional sampler as well. If I found one at a good price I would not hesitate to buy another one.
Re: Roland SP-404
I have one. used to use it all the time when making loops for scratching over in my turntablist days. now I mostly use it as an FX processor. the FX on the unit are really cheap and lo-fi sounding which I love. I record almost everything into it and back into my DAW.
great for putting simple loops together but the sequencer on the unit is very limited. they are not in the same league as something like the MPC which you can build full tracks in.
