Re: Saturation/distortion 2021
I tried one when I was getting stuff for the mastering room, opted for Culture Vulture in the end.
This tube character is an emulation/replication, they don`t use any tubes, so it lacks the same dynamic action.
It's quite odd, it`s hard to explain but it`s sort of tame in it`s aggression. You can be very "clean" when adding to sounds to give them an edge that doesn`t clutter.
For mastering it wasn`t versatile enough or dynamic enough for me. I know an engineer who uses a lot as a clipper though.
I would say the Electron is a better buy as you get so many different modes, and the analog filters and analog EQ + overbridge + modulation.
The Elektron you need to be more careful with your input levels relating to gain, as it can get a little noisey, so you have to dial it in if you want to be "cleaner" with your dirt. Whereas the Elysa is generally clean out unless you really crank it.

I got the one with CV inputs and it really twists sounds up.

Electrolobotomy has been making great shit for years.
I forgot all about him.
That box is rawkuss. I wonder how much he'd charge to do a stereo version.

I'm also a big fan of ableton's amp. The blues setting can add some really nice crispness and presence when dialed in.Bradley1602 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 10:36 pmi like:

Got this recently, it`s a morphing wavetable distortion. Can be very brutal, but also you can add nice movement within the distortion.

Re: Saturation/distortion 2021
I'd love to hear some uh... not metal (or whatever that was) demo of this. Awful videos. Why no demo!?
I'd LOVE to get a replacement for my beloved VST Ohm Force Predatohm which is now completely incompatible with my system (m1, Monterey). Did anyone used to use that - or Ohmicide? They were amazing. I've never found anything that comes close to those plugins. Trash and Kombinat are my other two multi band distortion plugins; but they're no substitute unfortunately.

I thought the videos and run throughs here actually did a good job to demonstrate how it works and sounds. Certainly it was enough for me to purchase.ozias_leduc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:20 pmI'd love to hear some uh... not metal (or whatever that was) demo of this. Awful videos. Why no demo!?

https://www.3sigmaaudio.com/tactical-nu ... mo-tracks/ the track by track mixdown video seems worth a watch. Only seen a quick 10 mins but will finish it off later.ozias_leduc wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:20 pmI'd love to hear some uh... not metal (or whatever that was) demo of this. Awful videos. Re: Saturation/distortion 2021
A portastudio with type 2 cassette is nice.
U also have 4 channels on it so u can record drums L+R and instruments L+R pretty hot at the same time
to get a little bit of drive and compression.
Dont use the dbx.
If u are willing to spend some money there's probably better equipment.
edit; if u have a focusrite interface u can put the "air" on when recording back if u wanna make it brighter.

Tritik krush is my fav. just so easy and tough immediately. Nice for deep house. Or tougher tech stuff

Re: Saturation/distortion 2021
Just added a DS-1 and You Dirty Rat for some industrial sound design. In series with the Analog Heat there are lots of ways to find sweet spots. Anyone else stack pedals for that real dirty grimy industrial sound?
Re: Saturation/distortion 2021
Yeah, I use that a lot, find it really useful.Bradley1602 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 2:05 pmTritik krush is my fav. just so easy and tough immediately. Nice for deep house. Or tougher tech stuff
Haven't really been stacking pedals - I should give it try.

no exp with pedals. except amp sim in live.
But I have the free guitar rig, but I can't quite get to grips with their amp sims or pedals...
