Monitor controller and heaphone amp combo solution?
I did it! I saved up enough for a set of Audeze LCD-X headphones. I have been recording more vocalists at home and was thinking I would benefit from using some kind of monitor controller with a headphone output, maybe even running one of them to a closet I have in my studio area to use as a vocal booth.
Any of you guys have and recommendations or advice on this matter?

Re: Monitor controller and heaphone amp combo solution?
well, they go from 20 to 2000$, so...
I have an SMPro M-Patch2, which is ok, although the headphones balance is off. I use the HP out of my RME, or when downstairs, a small mackie mixer.
I see Behringer have a new monitor controller/USB interface.
Just had a look at your headphones... 1500$? Maybe SPL could do them more justice. Margins will be small though.

I use the classic TC Electronic BMC-2.... But they don`t make em any more
Re: Monitor controller and heaphone amp combo solution?
One thing I cannot get my head around is the lack of volume control knob on some of the newer audio interfaces. I use mine a lot without having the PC turned on, a physical control is a must for me. So I'm interested in the suggestions and certainly something that isn't going to cost a bomb. I'm going to spend enough on a new interface soon, whether it comes with a physical control or not I dont know yet as I'm undecided what I'm going to buy.

I use the Dwarmer CMC 2
Clean, small, has a headphone out, can run two sets of monitors and has a separate mono output for a sub or single speakers.
Also has phase and mono switches too which are really helpful.

Was about £200 I think but got it a few years back.
