This is really really good, Steve! That example, where the kick was constantly crossing the threshold was a really great way to explain attack and release. I have seen it written out in words before (I think you have done it here, and I also think I have heard it on the kush audio podcast), but it made more sense, when you see how it works!

Thank you very much Steve for the tutorial. I really enjoyed it and helped me to actually hear the compression effect on the sound. Already waiting for the next one!

Here`s the first production tutorial.
It centers on compression, and I explain the topology and how it really works, clearing up any myths and confusion, and then giving some demonstrations on the functionality of a compressor within the context of kickdrums and compression.
One of the best tutorial I have ever seen, thank you so much!! Are you going to record new videos?

Will be new production tips and broadcasts soon.
I just ordered a nice broadcast mic.and mic boom arm.
Once that arrives with my new audio interface I'll be ready again. The lavalier mic wasn't working for me.

Alrighty, after much faff, new gear arrived today, nice broadcast mic and some other bits, I`m in the process of reworking the production room, and awaiting a new desk, but in the interim I`ll set up with what I have. If I have time 2morro I`ll do a new video.

It will be one that hopefully covers all the bases of the most asked production question on Subsekt, so we can put it to bed once and for all.
