Re: Mackie overdrive
Arrived today. Took tve unit apart. Ordered 1 Fader + Knob. The rest goes well gonna clean, add anticorrosion und lubricant and it will be running really smootly. There are no smd components used so repairing is fairly easy. Might try to diy rack ears with some alu frames from the hardware store. 56 Euro is less than I spend on a night out...
Re: Mackie overdrive
Excellent.
You'll have the satisfaction of fixing it up too. Fair play man

Re: Mackie overdrive
Good call on the DeOxit it’s magic in a can. I’m gonna do the same for my 1604 the knobs are getting pretty stiff
Re: Mackie overdrive
Hardware mixers are worth almost nothing nowadays.
These Mackies mentioned over here are just cheap stuff so that won't break the bank but most of them are pretty battered. DeOxit is your good friend here .
A while back I've bought a Midas Venice 320; I had a Mackie (VLZ) in the past but I like the Venice a lot more.
Re: Mackie overdrive
Be careful with deoxit or anything like that. It'll loosen stuff up & get you going.. but if there is any dirt at all, it just shifts everything about. Doesn't get rid of it. In fact, it could attract more dust & dirt. Especially if you use a lot.
Do think about removing as much of the dirt before you apply the deoxit, or whatever. I always use a few tiny drops of the f100.. then remove the excess. A film is enough imo. Doesn't need to be swimming. The spray has other stuff in it, as well as being a bit unruly to apply sometimes.
You also need to make sure that there is nothing in the product that your using that's gonna start disintegrating your fader
After that, make sure you keep those faders pulled down & the mixer covered when it's not being used.

Re: Mackie overdrive
Really want to incorporate patchbays soon. one of these days.
The first channel on this mixer is pretty wonky. It only plays through one side and is super scratchy. Hopefully a cleaning will remedy it.

Re: Mackie overdrive
I noticed some of the stems on some of the pots are bent. Guess I gotta bend them back. Anyone else ever dealt with this?
