Re: Newbie with a question
Hi everyone. I haven't bothered to introduce myself....but help me now on some sort of vague question. Thanks! I've got a feeling some of the regulars are creating new accounts to keep themselves (and the rest of us) amused on slow news days (at least I'm hoping they are fake accounts/posts...surel...

Re: Prince of Denmark is dead
Never got it either, his stuff is nice granted, but by the way I've heard some people describe him you would think he's smashing boundaries all round. Keeping a low profile seemed to add to the hype as it usually does.

Re: Learning vs consuming / Millenials & music production
His videos are really well done. There was another one I saw recently that described pretty much what's being discussed here, the fact that technology is one of the reasons people aren't as focused.

Re: Building a Music PC in 2017 - Advice / Spec / Prices
If they are your only 2 reasons for going Windows and you love Mac I'd suggest looking at building a Hackintosh. I built one back in 2012 and found it surprisingly easy to install mac software on. The only thing you have to look out for is that the parts you pick are mac compatible, but there's a we...

Re: Injecting politics into techno
Apart from lyrics I can't think of a way it can be done. I think I read that Porc or someone was trying a similar thing but the only thing political was the name of the track. Personally I can't stand lyrics in techno and electronic music in general. Alan Watts is a voice you hear in tracks from tim...

Now to the real elephant in the room. Where the fuck did Dr. Nay go? I bet the fucker isn't even a real doctor...  Of all the shit in this thread this cracked me up the most. The original post actually seems like some silly 1st year college assignment. The doc got his answer in the first...

Re: Your DAW/sequencer history?
Interesting thread.. I had a habit of trying out lots of software mainly out of curiously: First I was given a copy of Ableton on a CD but seemed too complex at first. Then used Logic for a while. Moved onto Reason. Then Pro Tools. I got a copy of Cubase with a desk I bought but only used it briefly...

Yes to all of the above, with the exception of Behringer and a few others but you get what you pay for in some cases.Huck Farper wrote:All of it.
Specially Elektrons.
Despite that I still blow my money on hardware, why...because it's fun..

Re: The most dark industrial techno, ever.
According to the track list on YouTube there's 2 of his tracks in the whole mix haha! Maybe he's bringing in some elements here and there like some people do but I didn't listen long enough to it, found the mix boring overall. Yeah you said it, between the 'drum machine/ launching tracks from trakto...

Re: The most dark industrial techno, ever.
the most funny about all this is that supposedly SNTS is unam zetineb, not official but heard lots of people say it AND unam is known for sampling other techno artists i know at least XHIN came public with it. this happened some years ago, and now he's playing with a fucking mask, i wonder why... T...

Nice price alright, will be looking forward to some proper demos. A rushed 3 note arpeggio presentation at a trade show doesn't seem like the best way to unveil a product!

On a serious note, what's a big set? Play what you wanna play, tell some friends if you want. Doesn't matter if 1 or 1000 people turn up, play and have fun!

Re: Anyone working on projects from multiple computers?
I use an external hard drive to transfer between 2 computers, mainly because one computer has no internet access. One advantage is all my stuff is constantly kept backed up. Remember, if it's not in three physical locations, it's not backed up at all! 1. Laptop 2. External HD 3. Hackintosh Check! I...

Re: Behringer Model D clone
It's interesting to see what their doing, they mentioned cloning the Arp 2600 and OSCar too. If they can make good sounding synths for small money more power to them. The 2600 is certainly due a resurrection, the money they go for is ridiculous.

Yeah, one of the biggest desk manufacturers comes out with an analog synth so naturally anyone into their hardware is gonna be excited.
Seems like they're going for a modern day remake of the Juno 106.
