Re: Taming Mid Range In Production?

I wouldn't focus solely on the mid range, the mid ranges presence in a song is relative to the rest of the spectrum. As in a problem that sounds like there's too much mid range might be too much bass, or not enough high end, or both.... It's all relative. I don't think there is a straight answer to ...

Same here. It always felt natural to me and I did without thinking to much about it.
Yeah same as, semed like a natural thing to do.

I often do this on fx sends. Automating these things can give nice movement.

Re: Challenge: Write a techno track with no kick

Also: are you still considering creating video lessons? I would be very interested in paying for a glimpse into some of your trickery :D Yes, but it is taking me some time as I want to do it properly. I`m getting a nice set of cameras to put up in the production room, so I can move to different are...

Re: This sold me on Bitwig

I downloaded the demo today and managed to work my around it to make a track. There are some really appealing things about it, very impressed. I love the split session and arrangement view on the same page, and that you can have midi and audio running on the same channel. That led to making sounds i...

Re: This sold me on Bitwig

Hi Ronny, did you ever make this switch? Interested if you did or are still planning to? I'm regularly using Bitwig now. Still learning a lot of things, because there is so much to explore. Then again I'm also using Ableton 10 as well. If somebody would force me to choose one, it'd be Bitwig though...

Re: Parametric and Analogue style EQ

Hi Subsekt. I rarely find myself using a parametric EQ anymore, perhaps out of habit. I am now using BX console SSL G as my EQ which I love, it has very broad curves so I am going to make myself use a parametric more in combination for tighter adjustments. Doesn't your mix get cluttered without EQ?...

Re: Parametric and Analogue style EQ

Not that fussy here. Ableton stock... Yeah EQ8 usually does the job. Yeah this is what I have been very occasionally reaching for. I use the pro q for surgical cuts and the satson eq for bass boosts if required. I can get proq2 for 50% off as I'm a teacher, I do prefer using it to Abletons EQ in th...

Saying I don't need the saturation stuff - I tried the distortions on the panner yesterday and they are really nice.

Re: Netflix tips

Dark Tourist is a new series on Netflix. I've not seen any yet but it's from the creator of a documentary called 'Tickled' which was a great watch so I trust this will be good. It's ok. The guy who presents it is a bit of a prick though. Ignorant and insensitive, and also a wimp. Bad traits for som...

Re: Latest SoundToys Sale. Ends Tomorrow.

I just missed it but emailed and they said they have another in a few weeks. I have demoed them before and never been too interested for the most part. I demoed them again this week though and realised there are some that I really do like, I'm a teacher so I can get the edu discount as well which ma...

Big up for doing this Ronny. From what you wrote on your site it sounded like this was going to be interesting. Some thoughts before watching thru: - Like the b12 t-shirt - I also love the UBK happyfuntime hour, I blasted thru them earlier in the year and learnt so much from them, plus they're a goo...

Re: TAL-DAC

Bought this on sight a few days ago, I've always loved the sound of their sampler, but never wanted the faff of another plugin when Abletons native options are fantastic. Can't wait to put it through its paces when I have chance. Although this thing is super convenient, I still like using the sampl...

Re: Death, Booze, Addiction, Despair

Very difficult situation, sorry to read about it Void. I actually think your idea of sending a letter might be best, providing it doesn't invite any other form of contact. I think everyone saying that getting back in touch is a bad idea is most likely speaking wise words, it doesn't sound like any g...

in case you wouldn't know the Fast Show, do watch some of the rest. 90% is fantastic.
still one of the best comedy shows I ever saw.
One of my all time favorites, definitely one of the best.

These Live 10 devices look great, I will try the demo and perhaps upgrade!
