Re: Attenuator - -12dB
I'd working on controlling the dynamics a bit more, feels a bit uneven right, especially the bass and transients.

Mix sounds a bit crushed.

Re: Where's the New Gear thread ?
I just got a Freqport FT-1 Freqtube for the mastering room. Crazy bit of kit, and dare I say it has made my Thermionic Culture Vulture ME kinda redundant. How does it compare to the Analog Heat? Similiar price point. It doesn`t really. They serve different purposes. Analog heat is way more versatil...

Re: Anyone here using the native UAD Spark package or other UAD plugins?
I'm currently subscriped to Spark. My favs are the API Vision, 1073, 224, Pultec. The synths also sound really good. Love the PolyMax. Now that they're offering them separately, I might just buy the ones I like the most one by one when they're on sale. But I don't think the sub is a bad deal, especi...

I wrote something about my favorite electronic music this year
Hey all! For my new Substack, I did a top 30 EPs and a top 30 albums list with little blurbs for each record. Maybe someone will find something they like!

Does anyone want anything? I just feel that a have more plugins than time at this stage. I`m always on the lookout for weird and different shit, I don`t need any more EQ`s, compressors, saturators, reverbs---normal shit. Current fave plugin developers are Puremagnetik. they make some great creative...

Bassline is a bit much in the resonance. Mix is a bit dark overall.

Re: Erica Synths - Perkons
Well. Less predictably. and less accurately it will give you what can get with plugins in most situations, but I wouldn't say it offers what cannot be got with plugins exactly, it`s just that sometimes hardware can be a simpler and more immediate all-in-one solution to certain processes. There aren...

Re: Erica Synths - Perkons
Good question. One I have not fully answered myself. I have been toying with either the SPL Passeq or the TH-The Swift. I want something that has a little colour, there is little that competes for clarity in mastering with vst eq's, but I'd like something I can shape and add colour with, helps if i...

Re: Erica Synths - Perkons
I had an original LXR, It was the main drum machine on my Catharsis stuff, but I sold it, so the new album coming out doesn`t have it on. Check any of the release here https://www.discogs.com/artist/6259275-Catharsis-26 I miss it enough that the LXR2 is in my crosshairs. Will be a little wait thoug...

Re: Erica Synths - Perkons
I was excited about this until I played with one at the music warehouse. It actually has quite a narrow range of sound, and isn`t very versatile. I mean, you can knock out a cliche techno track with it in about 10 mins but it just felt immediately dated and way too specific a sound to be of any int...

Trying to sound a bit weirder, I guess. Less following the "rules" of what is acceptabl in production. Flangers on the master, reverb on subs and so on.

Re: Anyone else dealing with Live 11 issues?
I swapped over to Bitwig for a bit; and I was really impressed with certain features that are much smarter than Live. I loved that the "macro" knobs are actually "remote control" knobs (ie simple 2 way communication between the knob and the parameter it's linked to) - and if you do really want an a...
