Im no expert at modular at all but I think a good way for you to start mate would be to but a small case and fill it with a sequencer or 2 and cv controllers and use those to control your hardware synths. Seeing as that's what you are into at the moment. See how you get on and expand from there. But...

The expanse 3d plugin is nice. I also liked the sound of upstereo as its more extreme. I can imagine having fun modulating the controls and using it as it wasn't intended.

I've been looking at the Boss HM-2 recently and was close to getting one. Then I heard the behringer HM300. The price difference is huge but the sound isn't really that different at all.

For £25 new its hard to resist.
