Re: Aphex Twin live @Funkhaus Berlin

Fukcing expensive, what is he the Rolling Stones of idm? Admittedly the main room at Funkhaus is to die for but still €70 ffs. As I said, it's not even the main room. It's the warehouse next to the main building. Also, all live recordings I heard of him from the last 10 years or so were essentially...

Re: Cheesiest favourites

OK you blacker than black, none more black motherfuckers What tracks are your favourite utterly cheesy pieces of shit records that you actually like/liked. I'm talking tracks that perhaps, because of *ahem* a flooding of serotonin, that you really enjoyed at the time, but are actually embarrassed t...

Aphex Twin live @Funkhaus Berlin

Apparently this just went online. Tickets are about € 70,00. Bit expensive. And he's not playing in the beautiful concert room of Funkhaus but the warehouse. Maybe buy tickets and sell them even more overpriced to the fanboys?

EDIT: Should've posted in the event section. Soz!

Re: Is there any point in releasing music these days.

Even if you think that is lame, people making money this how they do it it's one of the easier way to get seen I'm not so sure if this alone really helps you to get bookings, for example. Sure, it can be ONE element combined with half decent music and the right connections. But I know a couple of g...

Re: Is there any point in releasing music these days.

Something that might be connected to this in a way, recently I noticed some 'artists' following a bunch of people at once, and then after a while (or almost right after they get a follow back) they will unfollow, as a way to try and pad their numbers I suppose. At first I thought this was something...

Re: Modulated filter sound

Sooo, just arrived at home and while I tried to find the project file, I remembered that I recorded the synth sound with my Dominion 1 direct to an audio file. So I'm not able to give you exact settings but this sound is very basic and easy to recreate. Any softsynth will do I think. For the basic ...

Alvin & The Chipmunks Sludgefest

Already two years old but got me quite excited: Alvin & The Chipmunks tracks slowed down so the vocals sound normal, but the instruments get a kind of doom/sludge sound.

Re: Interfaces for use with hardware

I use a MOTU Traveller MK1. Bought it used for about 180€. 8 ins/outs, word clock sync, ADAT, both bus powered and works with its own power supply. If I'd have to buy an interface again, I'd buy second hand again. As long as the manufacturer keeps supporting their old hardware (as should be the case...

Re: TC electronics TC2290 (delay plugin /w hardware controll

I¬ve gotten pretty good at letting GAS pass through me. I generally don`t act on it without research or some kind of analysis. same here, but I do think part of that is because we've already gone through quite some gear, and we know it's far more about putting in the hours than getting the "right g...

Re: TC electronics TC2290 (delay plugin /w hardware controll

I could hardly stop laughing when I told him a little about my music and he, totally spontaneously, said "ow, so you actually make music with them as well" To be fair, I had a few impulse buyings as well and phases where I thought that my music will become exponentially better if I buy piece ...

Re: TC electronics TC2290 (delay plugin /w hardware controll

or people that want to be musicians/DJ's/... and then buy some gear for a few years, never put in the effort to learn it properly, have fuck all inspiration (a thing I hear even with a lot of people who did learn how to make music properly), think buying more gear (preferably "analog") because they...

Re: how to do a facebook live with your ableton video and au

I think the quality of FB live videos depend a lot on the upload speed of your internet connection. If it's to slow the audio and video quality might suffer a lot. There are (paid) services that let you upload a video and stream it as "live" from their servers. There are also free programmes that le...

Re: Favourite effects pedals?

Brillaint guys giving me lots to look up and consider which would suit my setup best. Would you guys have a recommendation for something to distort/saturate a drum machine (RYTM in my case) would the big muff pi suit this? The Drive on the Moogerfoogers works great for drums. I used to run the main...

Re: Favourite effects pedals?

I use an Eventide Space on everything that I make. Sounds great and it's nice to ride the knobs while recording it to get some movement. I also own a Moogerfooger Delay and MuRF. The delay is great for, well, delay but also for weird noises as you can achieve pretty extreme results using the LFO. I ...

What's he doing then, running sine waves through effects, recording the output, putting the stuff he likes into a sampler and playing riffs?, or chopping up the output and arranging it into riffs? Pretty standard stuff isn't it? No. He's playing a riff made of sine waves from the computer and adds ...

Re: Roland TR-8S

Tried aggregate devices once on Mac, didn't work at all: digital Distortion/massive glitches. I think I read that both interfaces need to be word clock synced so it might be only stable when you use interfaces that are connected with word clock ins/outs.

Pretty bad idea IMO. Where are marginalized/persecuted groups are supposed to seek asylum? Not being able to leave the sphere of influence of any government is quite a dystopy.
