Re: Program to correct timing issues

Can your DAW not do it? I'm pretty sure Cubase can do this.

Re: Anybody into SciFi books?

I don't get much time to read fiction but I would recommend Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Characters are pretty one dimensional but if you buy in to the concept then you'll absolutely love it! Currently reading Leviathan Wakes and enjoying it. Have already seen The Expanse TV series and Amos is nowhe...

Re: What DAW are all y'all tech nerds using?

Cubase user here. I am envious of some of Live's features and I've tried to use it but it's just so ugly I just can't get into it. That being said, I'm quite happy with Cubase. It feels unnecessarily big at times but it does offer a lot of flexibility and many ways to achieve the same outcomes. This...

Re: Headphone amp/audio interface advice.

I have a pair of AKG K701 which are around 60ohms. When I used them with my old Scarlett 18i20 and gain staging appropriately (-18 to -12 for each channel) I found that the interface introduced a lot of noise from the headphone output that was pretty intrusive when getting the level high enough to m...

Re: klark Teknik pricing

 Jeez! Those Midas 500 module prices are insane! You could get a rack, pre amp, 2 4-band eqs and 2 compressors for around a grand!

Great time to be in the market for a bit of hardware.

Re: klark Teknik pricing

They still appear to be going for £500-600 at other retailers. Someone on gearslutz said he called gear4music and apparently the price isn't a mistake.

Have Klark Teknik recently been taken over by Behringer, or something?

klark Teknik pricing

Does anyone know what the deal is with Klark Teknik? Their 1176 and pultec clones are going for £181 each! I'm not really looking for hardware as I don't really have the space for it until I finish uni next year, but at that price.......

Re: Good not too expensive sound card

Maybe check out the Audient interfaces. I think the ID14 is about £180 new and go for about £100ish used. You don't get many features but what you do get is quality - great converters, DI and two mic pres from their big consoles. I have the ID22 and am really happy with.

Re: Solid State Drives

I have a Samsung 850 evo or something. Reviews basically described it as reliable but otherwise meh... About £70 for 250Gb and that was a year or two ago. Huge improvement on the old spinner drives. Couldn't be happier with it. Just have my system stuff on it and use a big old hdd for data. Works gr...

Re: Vermona DRM.

I'm wondering why no one mentinoned XBASE 888. Just got this one a week go and I'm quite stoked with the sound it can make, really powerful analog kickdrums, good analog toms, and sample based instruments. People say about bugs, but I haven't found anything major yet. Damn, totally over looked thes...

Re: SGA1566 Mk 2

So if using this (or radiator etc) on the mixbus is it something you would mix in to like you would a compressor or is it something you would add at the end for a little 'sparkle' to finish? I usually mix into Reelbus then a compressor.

Re: BX_control V2 on sale for $19

Does anyone know how the mono maker compares with the Klanghelm VMUT deluxe? The mono maker is the only thing that would make me consider buying bx control seeing as they have the m/s monitor thing on their free 'solo' plugin. I use the free A1 Stereocontrol to mono bass at the moment but I haven't ...

Re: mixing / overall loudness

It's not vital to stick to -14db but you need to be careful that the signal in the channels isn't too hot because when you group them, to the drum bus for example, and you are clipping when all instrument are summed then you will have to adjust the mix to compensate. Pulling the bus fader down won't...

Re: mixing / overall loudness

Saturation. Saturate your sounds and you'll find the perceived volume to increase whilst the peak level on the VU meter decreases. This allows you to turn up the volume of your tracks and get even more volume as you take advantage of the extra headroom. Just do a little experiment... Make a quick dr...

Send the effect pre fader and pull the channel fader down. Or maybe use the effect as an insert at 100% wet
