Re: Favourite techno DJ?

The resident DJs at various events around the world who book all these big names are the real heroes. There are people doing it week by week who blow people like DVS1 etc out of the water. I generally find the residents the most interesting wherever I go. Lots of stunning unsung talent out there. I...

Re: This virus!

Had covid and the flu... From my personal experience, covid was defintiely not like the flu, because the flu was 10x worse. Last time i properly caught influenza was 3 years ago and i was in bed for a week.. Started with projectile vomitting then all my joints and bones aching, cold shivers all day ...

Re: The worst bit of kit you ever bought?

Subpac mk2, the backpack looking version... Its an interesting bit of kit but when i bought it i had an epiphany that it would help me to accurately monitor my low end. I thought it was going to help aid my mixdowns dramatically. But it was just a nuisance that i never wanted to wear and it definite...

Re: Derrick May be fucked.

What I don't get in these situations is why men try to pressure and coerce certain women into it. I'd be gobsmaked if there wasn't a string of women in most clubs who wanted to bang the DJ, so why don't they choose one of those? I assume in some cases, its because some of these DJs get used to the ...

Re: Favourite techno DJ?

That I’ve personally seen? Probably DVS1. Never seen anyone else with so much stage presence and technical skill. He’s one of very few DJs that can make boring tool records sound exciting. I only heard of DVS1 from his label releases, Which were minimal and tool like but brilliant when sped up in t...

EU DJs & artists will need a visa to perform in the UK from 2021

How do you think this will effect the UK and events industry as a whole? We (U.K) really seem to be taking a step backwards at the moment... Sad. ''in a policy paper released on Tuesday, the Home Office confirmed that EU artists will need to apply for a Tier 5 visa once the UK's Brexit transition co...

Re: Soundcloud could fuck up a wet dream.

i still browse it quite often but only to keep up with artists/labels/DJs i follow. it used to be so great but they royally fucked it up. The selling point in the past was FOR the creators but more and more they got rid of what made soundcloud great and tried to just make it a standard streaming sit...

I love flangers, use them a lot. They can be great fun to experiment with and give very interesting results. Like steve touched on, i find theyre best when you either use them as a subtle effect or go nuts and use them extreme with high feedback settings etc.. Heres an example where i used them on ...

Re: Bas Mooy picks his favourite 10 tracks on Mord

Not huge on the MORD stuff, but theres definitely some solid releases here and there.

'Radial - Asiel' is still my favourite track on MORD.

The atmosphere and groove is incredible.
