Re: Saturation/distortion 2021
A portastudio with type 2 cassette is nice. U also have 4 channels on it so u can record drums L+R and instruments L+R pretty hot at the same time to get a little bit of drive and compression. Dont use the dbx. If u are willing to spend some money there's probably better equipment. edit; if u have a...

Re: What are good headphones with low end response?
I think what people don't understand is that mixing on headphones is a whole skill on its own that takes time to learn. And by time I mean at least 1-2 years – if you have experience mixing on monitors. So no: Mixing on headphones won't necessarily lead to a shitty mix. Neither does a small room. y...

Re: What are good headphones with low end response?
I have the AKG k-702 (without sonarworks). They are really really good, but. I have a small room, with cheap monitors, untreated. It 's about the same as headphones for mixing. Best way to do it is just get comfortable with a good set of 150€+ headphones / monitors (150€ x 2 atleast). Learn the fact...

I really liked border community stuff when i started going out. Guess I 'm falling back to what i originally wanted :D guess it 's a good thing. I changed what barfunkel said in the mix and sounds indeed alot better already. As for the male vocal. I tend to agree since it 's more of a modern sample ...

Hello, I 've been away for quite a while, just making tracks for myself, weird stuff. It was quite an adventure with music not worth sharing  . anyhow, this week I was talking to some guy and he really liked the time I was showing him techno tracks when I started out producing. So it got me th...

Re: RWise - THE LOOP
It sure is minimalistic.
The thing with minimalistic is that the amount of FX usage must be higher.
and the impacts must be bigger.
the backbone is there though.
And add some soft clipping to make it
so that the little sounds are gonna sound bigger aswell.

Learned something new about speakers now though. +1
How are dynaudio 's actually ?
some old fart who works in a nearby studio kept rambling on about how they are the best he had in 9000 years.

Re: Studio monitors for 1500€?
it 's just that u cannot go wrong with adams, From everything I heard irl,
to me for 1500€ I 'd go with those adams any time.
But even more likely is that I 'd buy a pair of ns-10's with a power amp.
But those aren 't new ofcoarse.
At the end, your room is gonna matter atleast 5x as much.

Verry nice sounding,
as expected from monsieux dubdub.
the intro could be a bit shorter though an the snare a bit wetter :p

Personally I think if u can get everything more to the back,
it might even a bit like dexter from ricardo Captain Ketamine.
Referencing to that track while mixing won 't do you any harm

Re: boring track not techno 69
the low end needs some more attention. I didn 't analyze the track or don 't have the speakers atm to see if there 's something with the low end. But the fact that it 's sausaged an still silent means probably it has to much of it and needs attention :D with a bit of that u can make it to a decent l...

Re: Jordan F - Creole
I love the dynamics in this track. Although, if u can manage to keep the attack part of the kick the same, and the tail lower in volume. It 's gonna be even more spacial wich is good for the dubbyness. maybe a dip in the low mids of the kick might even work. In contradiction to the responses above, ...

Re: Anybody else here have a dedicated kick synth?
It 's funny Everytime I start hearing those lazor zaps, I know I 'm almost there, turn the decay a bit counterclockwise at that point and there u go. It 's so satisfying :P what I often do, and this is for trying, not for doing probably. But if u have a decay envelope on the pitch wich says how much...
