Re: A guide to home "Mastering" of your own tunes
Try to avoid parallel compression on the master buss. Either commit to your compression or not. Parallel comp can dick around with time alignement perception too much across full stereo material. I didn't notice this other than a slight beefing to the lower end of the mix but it should be sounding ...

Re: A guide to home "Mastering" of your own tunes
Found myself returning to this original post again after some falling out with my master engineer friend's schedule and having to master my own stuff... 'Realized my kick level was way too high (so fixed that), but I am ending up with about -6 rms now. I basically followed the entirety of the genera...

Coming from a dnb background, I've gotta say I think Noisia are some of if not the best in terms of design and mixing. Their work is absolutely insane, and some of my favorite:)remykruyer wrote:youtu.be/DyUJg2XrH-Q

This! Also, if you put a filter delay on your send channel and bus it into a lead instrument for example , you can get some instantly recognizable and desirable effects:)Críoch wrote:If you go down the route of making a rack with lives filter delay.. you can macro the delay times.

Re: Progressive Techno by Cristian Soriano
Dude the bassline in that first track is waaaay out of tune with everything else, you need to retune that before you release it. I would agree on that first track. The idea is good, just plainly out of tune. The short modulation of the bass to have it open up also seems like it could have a bit mor...

Re: FabFilter Pro-R
I love the design and imaging of just about all of fabfilters plugins. The way a plugin is laid out can really help to understand what it is you're doing to the sound. I just started using Valhalla Room for reverb and it sounds incredibly clean, but it can be tricky for me to really picture what I'm...

I have been doing nicely with just a regs pair of ATH-M50s, great balance, flat response and comfort. Relatively cheap too. But never really noticed this "burn-in" time. I think it's as everyone here is saying: that burn in time is just your ears adjusting to the new source.

I probably should have posted here first, but I am just seeing this thread now ^_^ Hello subsekt, I'm Orin. Electronic lover since the time I first heard Homework when I was about 8. I grew up playing all sorts of music, live death metal, live hip hop, and starting djing in college (upstate NY). I w...
