Re: Orbital _ Brown Album : Looping Dialog FX
I happened to listen to this a couple of weeks back and it reminded me of an interview (probably Future Music mag) back in the ‘90s explaining how they did this. 1) Take a stereo sample. 2) Set the sample to loop in the sampler, i.e., don’t just trigger on the start of each bar, you want one long no...

Re: New Elektron box - Analog Heat
I just bought a Sherman!
I think this is a bit of a different beast to a Sherman FB.
The Elektron is also a USB audio interface via Overbridge.
What I'd love is a Vermona Retroverb (spring reverb/drive/filter/lfo/env) in stereo with patch memories.

Vermona mono lancet? Sounds fab, proper full-fat, organic analogue.

FS: Ableton Push 1
Ableton Push v1 in full working order and very minor cosmetic blemishes, as seen in photos. Comes with Decksaver cover and USB lead. Does not include power lead or original box, but unit powers from USB lead and will be very well packed. Pictures at Elektronauts: https://www.elektronauts.com/...

Re: Pawn Shop/Ebay Finds
Boss PS-2 mini percussion synth for £10 from an old secondhand shop in Bath, late '80s.
Used to work in a music shop and had the chance to buy a TB-303 for £60, a Yamaha CS30 for £30, and a Fender Rhodes for circa £200. D'Oh!

Re: Reload - Soaring (Global Communication, 1997)
To me this is the best dancefloor/techno orientated track Mark Pritchard did in the early '90s. Not sure how involved Tom Middleton was with this. Good to see Mark has a new album out: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Under-Sun-Mark-Pritchard/dp/B01FUPNANI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472070705&sr=8-1&keywords=m...

Totally agree.Lost to the Void wrote:I dont get people wbo say the octatrack is difficult or complicated.
I find it pretty easy to use, it has a lot of depth, but all the extra layers come naturally and integrate easily as an when you need to know how to use them.
Basic functions on the oct are dead easy.

Yep, I'm ancient. Blame the Casio CZ230s I got for Christmas '86.Hades wrote: hah ! if you've been doing this since 87, that must make you almost one of the oldest cunts we have here.

.[/quote] pfff, I once saw one a few years ago in the old Music Store shop and wanted to jam a little on the thing. I tried anything for about 20 minutes and couldn't get the damn thing to work properly. and I'd like to think that after having seen approx 30 HW synths pass through the years, one doe...

Re: is there an all in one hardware synth?
MV8000/8800 is quite capable of making fully professional sounding music, the onboard monosynth is really good, but no polysynth. Same with the Octatrack, just load up some Adventure Kid single cycle waveforms, apply filter, envelope, LFOs, bingo, very respectable monosynth. Spectralis hasn't been m...

Re: Getting your music heard/response...what are the next st
90% of the work you finish will be average. Or rubbish. That's the practice you need to do in order to do the 10% (or 5%) of work which will soar. How many tracks does Bruce Springsteen write per album? 10? 12? Or 40 to 50? Read 'Art and Fear: On The Perils And Rewards Of Artmaking'. Keep reading it...

Re: some dub techno
Hello, nice track.
My initial response was the pad sound could use a high pass filter to take some of the lower end out, that'll create some space for more subs on the kick.
Hope that helps.
