Re: whipped up two WIPs
I really like your Polipunch track, the juxtaposition of textures is mad.
These two wips are sounding good. Not really my thing but the production is has originality and shows a real understanding of rhythms and textures.

Re: True Self
In retrospect i think i was aproaching the genre in an naive way. Thinking i could get lucky and just throw something together, without really taking the time to get the right ingredients together and drawing inspiration loosely.. Just from a tune i had heard in a mix and tried to replicate without ...

Not anymore... whack ableton glue comp on something really quiet and it will behave quite differently compared with loud material, espescially satisfying seeing the little yellow clip light flashing !!Mono-xID wrote:Gain staging will remain a mystery to me forever.

A thing to remember is less is more. So what you just have one synth and make all your tunes on cracked or freeware. You get to know your plugins intimately. As Bruce Lee said " i fear not the man who knows 10,000 kicks but the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times".

No rules, try to enjoy the moment of creation, if it sounds good save it. If you ears get tired decide if your enjoying yourself regardless, be happy with your time making music.

Thanks man, i know its a lot of hassle and often feels like a waste of time, but this track is really good and maybe worth sending out a bit, one thought i had to critique was to somehow give it a more conclusive ending and outdo, some creative twist up?
