Re: dubdub - 645
Just listening on my laptop speakers, I like it so much i'm now plugging in the headphones, wait a minute...Sounds as if your using Ableton overdrive plug in or similar on a drum bus? something I do quite often but sparingly. Love when that bass comes in, really nice. Has an Autonomic dnb vibe which...

Tape emulation
Just been playing with the freebee tape plug in from vos, the Ferric Tds.... Never played with tape plug ins before but am fairly happy with the subtle dynamic shaping and saturation on this thing. Great fun putting it on the master. Any one else been using this? Any things to avoid when putting on ...

Re: Overloud EQ 550
Man, after half an hour or so, I have to say, this is a really good EQ. I would probably pay for it and I'm not someone that really collects EQs like crazy. The transformer drive gives a really nice sizzled highend, the midrange EQ sounds very sweet and the highend band is really good for boosting ...

Re: This sold me on Bitwig
I used a crack of Bitwig extensively but have always gravitated back to Live. Main reason being Bitwig was buggy as hell, or just awkwardly fiddly at times.. Ableton way more stable but Bitwig se very cool features, too many imo, nothing beats simplicity !

Re: Cross talk
A bit like parallel processing then? If i had a guitar channel and a bass channel both with there own distortion they would share a bit of the processing? Sounds cool and intriguing.

Cross talk
Ive heard the term thrown around a bit here but have no idea what it is. I was using the new Klanghelm ivgi saturator and noticed it had a crosstalk knob. Didnt seem to do anything.

Re: Merah - Beginners Mind
Thanks for your comments.
The mix is really tricky because of the main vocodered dub chord, for instance, because of its rhythmic quality and basic shape its hard to get drums to complement it. Not to mention bass. Back to the drawing board again with this one...

Re: Thinking about making music
Yes, although it could be said that it improves the hearing. People develop more sensitive hearing with ear training and things.. Most people monitor way too loud though, me included in my earlier days and the amount people use headphones too.

I sometimes worry that listening to the same loop over and over could cause brain damage..

Too wet on the headphones and dry on the moniters? Dial it somewhere in between.
