Was pretty happy with this set and features live versions of tracks from labels such as Planet Rhythm, Circular Lim...

Re: Live set Techno, drum machine and samples
I was using a soundcard - a stereo out from that went into a dj mixer, I found it was easier to go into the dj mixer just in case I did want to use (never did) and its usually already setup for the dj's. On the rytm I used a separate output for kick and bass tom (2 x mono) and the rest went out as a...

Re: Live set Techno, drum machine and samples
yeah fair question I think its mainly volume I think. Ive never really planned my transitions to be honest, I think I may have at the start but I guess I learned the limitations of this particular setup. On ableton I have 8 channels of audio that line up with the apc40, if I want to transition the b...

Live set Techno, drum machine and samples
Hey guys, as the title suggests, live set with drum machine (rytm) and samples, this time via ableton with an apc40 though probably last time I use that as its dying, shame those controllers don't last longer as they are pretty good. I use small samples (2-4 bars though in some textural things longe...

Re: Label question
When I started I nearly went through every single label on Resident Advisor, pretty long and painful but I kept that list and have been whittling it down ever since. Now that I know a bit more I tend to send to a select bunch of labels. Either way you have to put some work be it establishing a perso...

Re: JXTPS - CTRL Forces EP [Planet Rhythm]
yeah thanks, was pretty happy with the fourth one, wait till you hear it in its entirety its a tripper
Third one I used a similar rhythm that Anthony Linell did in levels of existential space, groups of 5 sixteenth notes or quintuplets

Re: What are good headphones with low end response?
good point re sonarworks, Ive been using some akg mk 2's for years and totally used to them even though probably not the greatest headphone. Using the Sonarworks headphone correction thing is part of my practice now in correcting the low end

Half hr mix all original tracks - deep techno
Mix for Kontrast Collective - I've tried to do all original mixes before and its hard, but I was happy with this one, the half hour format suits this idea, tracks from labels such as Planet Rhythm, Armatura, Catch Recordings, Fanzine and a couple of unreleased https://soundcloud.com/kontrastcollecti...

JXTPS - Crystal Skull EP [Fanzine]
New one just out on Spanish label Fanzine, label that's had releases by Santiago Salazar, Basic Soul Unit and Edit Select. Some of the best mastering I've had done on my tracks to date as well

Re: New Live Set!
Hey cheers! Yeah hopefully should go alright on a proper system, the rytm kick usually works well. Its a bit squashed and dirty but I kinda like that as opposed to the more clean form of production. Saying that theres always room for improvement. I ran a tape emulation plugin just before the limiter...

Re: UAD plugins for 2 buss SSL G and Neve 33609
depends on how much processing power you have with either the soundcard or the pcie cards.
So far Im finding SSL G more useful, the Neve has tended to bring out the punch in the track more, which depending on the material is not always as useful

UAD plugins for 2 buss SSL G and Neve 33609
Hey all, so I've been a big fan of using the UAD Ampex on the 2 buss for the glue and extra headroom. Looking at other options just to spice things up and add to my repertoire as well as occasionally the Ampex depending on the material, changes the bottom end in a way I dont like. So my question is ...

New Live Set!
Made a new live set, this one came together quickly and is always the most fun/best sounding on first play through https://soundcloud.com/jxtps/jxtps-live-set-26th-july2017 Most of the fiddling is done on the Rytm, treating it as a synth as well as the main drums, kick hats etc. Made some short loop...
