Re: Fabric Shut (for now...)

It was ironic. My best mate is from england. Being ironic...All part of the hipster plague!! Was watching a documentary on BBC the other night about how prices of property have dropped in the more popular parts of the city since Brexit and how foreign investors are buying up all the premium flats a...

A moment of your time (for Fabric - London)

Hi Guys, I'm sure many of you have heard about the diabolical closure of the infamous london club, and home of many incredible techno nights, Fabric. I'll not push my feeling or thoughts on the matter on here, the evidence for all parties is online should you wish to read it, but should any of you k...

Re: Your Production/Arrangement Process

I think the pattern to most of what has been discussed in this thread is that a lot of people are committing things to audio before remixing with those clips, samples, files etc. I think this is really good and very healthy for music as it means there is a lot of people using already-processed sound...

Re: Your Production/Arrangement Process

any way I can hear some of your music btw ? This forum will be the first to hear it Hades, not long now I recon. As mentioned before, I'm an obsessive freak and am just coming back to making my own music after spending way too many years producing others. As such, my latest work is little like a (m...

Re: Your Production/Arrangement Process

... Thought I'd add that I often take multi-outs from my drum machines, say kick, snare and HH, and route them all to an old 4-channel valve mixer that outputs a single mono signal. I use channel 4 to bring in some mono reverb before sending the output to compression before recording. The above proc...

Re: Your Production/Arrangement Process

Mine's very similar to Hades above in that I have a lot of hardware. Same generation as Hades I presume, and I just enjoy getting hands on as I've spent enough of my life staring at a screen. I have all my synths, modular, drum machines and noise makers over one side of my studio, and from there I p...

Re: Moving into a smaller space

Hi Terly, Thought I'd chime in here as I've just done a similar thing... moved from a house with a log-cabin on the land for a studio, into a house where I have a 4m x 4m room for my studio. It does have a small storage room and ensuite off that, but my music room is in effect now 1/4 the size of wh...

Re: Free Studio Furniture Anyone? (UK)

I still have it, and technically can still enter the old property to get it but it needs to be soon and it needs to be collected.

Thanks.

Free Studio Furniture Anyone? (UK)

Hi All, I've packed up my old studio and moved somewhere new. None of the old furniture worked for me and so I have left it at the old place. I'm offering this up to anyone who would like it in the UK, and yes, you can take it for free. The only catch is YOU MUST COLLECT IT YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 4 DA...

Akai S3000XL Question .. Anyone using one that can help?

Does anyone know if you can send a stereo sample out of a pair of the individual outputs of an Akai S3000XL? On the S1000 you can only send stereo to the main L&R for example, only mono samples to the individual outputs one at a time. I also know you can do this on the later samplers, S5/6000 etc. A...

Re: Favorite movie/serie soundtracks?

For video games it has to be Tears by Health for Max Payne 3 (I've never played the game).

Amazing Noise track, and also happens to have the sickest video ever shot to music too...

Re: close calls

It was around 3am and I was alone, in the top floor of an abandoned mill on the outskirts of Manchester working on finishing the control room to our first studio. The control room was built on a mezzanine similar to studio 2 at Abbey Road and so we had a temporary set of rickety old steps leading up...

Re: Favorite movie/serie soundtracks?

For me it has to be The Good, The Bad and The Ugly scored by Ennio Morricone. Everything about that films soundtrack is pure grit. The overdubbed voices, the spot mics on the stirrups and the filthy baritone guitar used throughout to mark tension. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYI09PMNazw&index=3&...
