Thanks for all your comments much appreciated!
Lots to try and practice - just really looking to expand on techniques and looking at different ways to process rhythmical parts and provide punch.

Re: Heavy Techno Rythms
I find a lot of this stuff very soulless and a bit lame but it's definitely super well engineered. I read somewhere that Dax J has a crazy process in the studio where he masters his own stuff and then readjusts the mix based on that and that sometimes he repeats that process like 15 times. There's ...

Heavy Techno Rythms
Apologies if this has been covered before - But what do people generally do to create those heavy techno rythms used by dax j, cleric etc. use. They sounds like hats and snares which are processed to give them a lot of oomph bkYIKe4ldQU Does anyone have any tips on how to do these? Compression/rever...

An example of the hat slow down effect occurs at the 2:57 mark.

Rhythm + Percussion Variation - Slow Down Hats etc...drive e
Hi - tried looking for this as an already existing topic on the forum but couldn't find it - but forgive me if already posted! I was hoping to look for some tips on how to create variation on percussion and rhythm parts and generally what people do add a bit more interest? One technique I was really...

Re: Fabric Shut (for now...)
I am genuinely very gutted to see Fabric close; went there first in 2001 for the second birthday, and was a regular for many many years; mainly going to the DNB nights, never really went there for the techno/house on a Saturday. Does seem like that there was a vendetta and they were determined to ha...

Re: Track - Badman Business - Neuro Inspired Techno
Thanks for your thoughts guys - much appreciated (especially planar!) I was going for quite a harsh and aggressive sound - was trying to make techno if ed rush and optical were making it in the late 90s/early 00s - What I like about techno is the subtlety that you get - with dnb when a tune drops yo...

Track - Badman Business - Neuro Inspired Techno
Hi - I wanted to share a track with you all that I have put together called Badman Business. It is a techno track inspired by the sounds of Neuro DNB, I was on a trip to try and merge together the sounds of dnb and techno. Keen to get any feedback or thoughts on this. (excuse the title name, was goi...

Thanks for all your tips - will keep plugging away and sending the music off to various people and just keep at it.
Yeah I probably did get a bit too impatient - probably a bit too excited about actually finishing some tunes!!

Getting your music heard/response...what are the next steps?
Thought I would pose this question on the forum - probably been several discussions on this so forgive me if this is a re-hash. I put together two tunes which I was pretty pleased with, been working on them for a while, had them mastered etc. I am trying to create techno by using influences from 90s...

Re: MIXING TUTORIALS (youtube)
If you've not seen dancemusicproducers.com tutorials then i can really recommend them mate. They may seem expensive but tbh they blow any other tutorial out of the water in terms of areas covered, knowledge of Rick (the tutor), detail, and straight up awesomeness. My tracks have massively, massivel...

Re: Scales and music theory
Whats your approach to musical scales and music theory in general when producing techno? Do you start of in a key, or just experiment until it feels good? I usually start in a key, and its usually a, e or g minor. But im bored with that and i find that when i dont give a shit about the key i use my...

Re: Atmosphere / effect / pad sounds in tracks
2KRtKLi880c thanks for your tips - What i am looking to do is really try and replicate the atmosphere in this track, not copy per say but just understand the technique It sounds like it is all driven from the following: Distorted kick + reverb? Rides Percussion - lots of hats But there is this ener...
