Re: Failure

This track grew on me. I'm not going to comment on technical aspects as this hardcore is not the style I'm familiar with, but I liked the feeling it gave me. The arrangement is not boring at all and kept me interested throughout the track. Although I'm not sure about the sustained bass thing, it's k...

Re: Should I add spikes on my monitor stands?

Better invest in that cheapo behringer measurement mic and measure like 100 times with small changes in your monitor placement. Then go for the best position. Check rew room wizard freeware for this. I've done it last year and definately should have done it five years ago. There's a lot of threads ...

Re: Bassiani - Police raid Georgian nightclub

Lithuanian here, can confirm. I thought that shit like this is a thing of the past, since we're in the EU, people are travelling and seeing the world. But after electing a very conservative party into the parliament we had new alcohol and drug restrictions imposed. You can go to jail for 2 years for...

Re: fatherhood

A really wise being once gave me the most humane answer to the population problem. Only 1 child per parent pair. Population halved in one generation. I'm sorry, but this is complete and utter BS. As are all simplistic solutions to complex problems. First off, this doesn't take into account the agei...

Re: My first hardware synth...

To me, hardware totally crushed my output (plus the "quality" of my output). I suck more than ever to finish things and learn how to use the units takes even more time on top. BUT it brought back the fun to my hobby. I was sick of fiddling around with automation lanes and editing stuff. DAW work ju...

Re: My first hardware synth...

lltb5P8gnPQ I might have found what I want... :o This one sounds amazing. OTOH, being a hardware virgin, I have question for everyone. How much would you say your productions changed (improved?) with adding first hardware synths to your studio? Was it a dramatic change? I have to justify a purchase...

Re: The last track that Wowed you

Alright, so I just recently discovered this young kid, a fellow Lithuanian residing in Amsterdam (I think). Pretty much every track of his wowed me. This very raw broken beat techno is just amazing.

Re: How do you guys play/generate the notes in your tracks?

I guess you have to at least somewhat familiar and comfortable with the keyboard to be able to transfer a melody from your head to a track. Otherwise, it's just noodling and shooting in the dark mostly. OTOH, sometimes completely random methods work too - sometimes I will just hit totally random key...

Re: Sonarworks

I use HS8s and I believe I could really benefit from some calibrating. Downloaded Sonarworks trial but as far as I understand, it's no use without their mic, right? Or is it something I don't get in the process?

A bit late to the party, but I've got to say - the penis track is amazing!!! Very worthy of a proper release and hit status. Did it ever get a release though? :) ow admit it already, you're just happy to find out there are men out there which are even far more obsessed about touching their own peni...

Check out Good Time OST by Oneohtrix Point Never for which he picked up an award at Cannes. Amazing, really. Or better check out both the soundtrack and the movie which is awesome too.

Re: Radio Slaves guide to becoming a professional DJ in 2018

Actually is the "ghost producers" an actual thing? I mean I know there are/need to be people who make beats for pop stars, but I don't see how would that worm with techno, or any other less exposed electronic music. It is rampant. In the 90s, it was possible to get booked frequently as a DJ without...

Re: Radio Slaves guide to becoming a professional DJ in 2018

But ghost production. Meh, it's never people who want anything interesting, always boring Bumload/whatever is popular stuff. Even desperate for money I couldn't do it, it's so boring and mechanical making that type of shit. Just out of curiosity, what kind of money are these people willing to inves...

Re: New members say hello...

I guess I took the hard route by taking piano lessons first and learning some music theory and then slowly moving on to producing . I'm only repeating this in a subtle manner for the others to see... Well, it's not like I've become a master of piano or anything, it's basic stuff but reall...
