Re: Cheapest way to smash a mix through a tape deck?

I use a portastudio 424 mkii They still go for pretty cheap sometimes I didn't pay much for mine. Look into any rack mount cassette recorder/player (Denon, Tascam, Vestax, etc). I always turn the noise reduction off because I love that hiss but if you don't go for dbx noise reduction over dolby if p...

I've got a z3000

It's a great sounding osc but I prefer going for the more complex eurorack oscillators these days (Piston Honda, Braids, etc)

The frequency analyser is extremely useful though

Re: Share your errors

Spending too much time getting absolutely blind on the weekends when I could've been working on music or focusing on uni (just passed a year sober from alcohol 8-) ) Not practicing piano, trumpet and guitar enough when I was a kid and neglecting the theory, as well as letting the psycho of a music t...

Is it quite slow for everyone or just me?

Seems like a cool alternative I guess but nothing really revolutionary enough to take on Soundcloud

Re: Making Audio Cables

Yes definitely, I also didn't factor in I'm quite privileged because I have access to a trades account at the major audio electronics store in my city which takes a considerable amount off the price.

Re: Inside Out

Saw it with the ball and chain few weeks after it came out and absolutely loved it Was incredibly surprised by how adult it was, if they did the same with say a twenty year old girl I feel like it would've been real dark. I cried at the end and at the fucking volcano song thing before the movie star...

Re: Making Audio Cables

All the best studios make their own cables. From my experience of making cables you invest a decent amount for some top quality cabling and whatever heads you need and it works out being cheaper and more reliable (if you're good at soldering) than most cheaper stuff you can buy online. The top quali...

Re: You going to some Festivals?

So incredibly jealous of you Europeans and you're amazing lineups

Down under we'd be lucky to see the kinds of techno acts once a year that you get every weekend :(

That being said going to Rainbow Serpent like I do every year and the Earthcore lineup looks pretty decent

Just saw your reply thank you Void!

Definitely agree with the low end advice and will keep in mind the envelope automation for future work

Maybe some filtering on the hat would work? I like the peakiness of it to be honest but think I did go a little overboard

Re: Roland - Hardware Quality...

I am so confused why there's a different multi-channel codec for each pot and CV input (had a lot in storage maybe???)

It's pretty shocking but that being said for their price, what they can do and their sound I think they're pretty great and it doesn't completely turn me off them

Ten Walls goes on an anti-gay rant

Sure not strictly speaking techno but what's everyone's opinion on this? I'm loving the backlash, festival cancellations and general response to what as happened. Sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion but when you express that opinion solely to abuse people you're an asshole in my book, esp...
