Re: Atmospheres and Spaces
For me it's a must to have a layer of something underneath the track. Ranging from stuff like Mattias' drones to vinyl crackle or tape hiss for example. It can be in-your-face or completely hidden, I think it brings more life to clean digital music.

Re: The Dark Techno cookbook
As every1 already mentioned, you get best results with experimenting and doing stuff differently + it's a lot of fun to tweak stuff unlike doing something by the book. For me, this is a perfect example of dark stuff. Actually anything from that label/circle of artists. Porc - My Head Is Slowly Explo...

Re: To choke or not to choke?
It's handy for mimicking real drum kits. For example; I think a drummer can't play an Open HH & Closed HH at the same time cuz one chokes the other out. Personally I never use the option, I use ADSR, Midi Note Length or some other manual way.

Re: Ableton : "clicking" sound when triggering midi notes
From my experience; clicking occurs when your sample start marker ain't on the zero crossing. I think it's impossible for a speaker's membrane to start from a positive/negative value so you get annoying clicks as a result. You can fix that by adding some attack, but I would surely try with zero cros...

Re: Ns10m Studio
Nah it's fine. The main reason I got them was to challenge myself to make better mixes since all the reviews rate them as honest speakers. Will eventually get another pair then.

Re: Ns10m Studio
Hey Mattias, yes I've red a lot on how they're used as a reference usually. But since I'm coming from a shit computer speakers background, NS10s sound amazing to me lol. I'm going for an Art SLA2 amp.

Ns10m Studio
Finally got a pair of these from eBay I still need an amp for them but that's coming soon too.
If there's any ns10 users here I'm curious on how you guys position them; horizontally, vertically, on table or maybe on stands etc?
Thanks!

Regarding the delays; there's a trick I learned. 30000 divided by your BPM = exact ms of an eight note.

Re: subsekt sound design school _ BASS
Nice example Mattias, one question tho. This full cut you did on the EQ; is it to make room for the kick which is peaking in that area?
