Re: Multiple Midi Devices Into DAW / Computer? Synths etc..

Hey John :-) From a single 'MIDI Out' of the computer, go to the 'In' of the first machine, then from the 'Thru' of the first machine into the 'In' of the second machine and so on. The cable chain could look something like: (each set of brackets is a different cable) (Out computer > In 1st machine) ...

Re: Some questions about updating RAM

RAM probably wont help too much as far as glitching goes but as kryo says if your machine is swapping there will be obvious negative side effects. I would definitely take Ant's advice and use the mac's activity monitor to see what it's actually struggling with while under load. Reboot your machine, ...

I really like the mid and top on this. Sort of brittle but functional.

The low end is really relaxing and sensible too. Some good stuff from you Patriek :-)

Keep working at it and developing your skills.

Re: Acoustics

Hey african, it could be standing waves that cause your bass levels to vary in different parts of your room. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_wave Maybe try turning your monitors down and move them off center and away from corners and walls if you can. Try and find a standard level to listen an...

Re: Acoustics

A fair amount of what you're calling academic comes down to having an adequate setup and knowing it very well. In my last place I was lucky enough to have a decent room which sounded excellent but it still took hundreds of hours over years worth of listening before I could even start to pick out det...

Re: Did you see Regis, Karenn & Surgeon on Boiler Room?

i just watched the karenn set and think the gear and liveness add value but take that away the raw audio experience didn't really do it for me.

i generally like raw and pointless but not this kind. i'll have to give it another go because i can hear there's excellence in there.

nice stuff walsh, i'd give the same feedback as i seem to be giving everyone lately. start in the middle and work backwards from there rather than spend 4 minutes building up to it.

Re: Bada Bing

the ideas and sounds are there kuba but imo need to be sexed up somehow (but don't ask me how). i think the main part of your song after the first break should be front and center from the start and i would try and work out some more interesting things to do with it for the main / middle part, then ...

Re: Feedback would be nice :)

hey vinyl thanks for posting and nice tracks. the over all sound of the first one is a bit nicer to me but i like dubbier feel of the second song a lot more. the percussion could be catchier or tighter somehow. i think with beat driven music these days it's important for the percussion to say someth...

Re: Which to pursue first?

the first one sounds like it could be something special when you work more of your crooked style bass lines into it. 3 sounds quite conceptual and field recorded and could be really nice. actually it's already nice and could loop easy for a few minutes before you realize it's that whole thing. 2 cou...

This is one of my favorites of yours Pat.

Not sure completely what it is about it but it has a sort of cold hostile alien insect feeling hidden in there somewhere that I like a lot.

Really well produced sounding track Mr eggchips and plenty of cheese on top.

Killer kick and hat, well mixed, comfortable structure and very musical. I'd imagine there are plenty of situations where this would work nicely.
