Re: Ableton 9.5 & Push 2

I have been a Push1 owner for quite some time and I ordered the Push 2 straight away. I received it directly from Ableton a few days ago. First impressions; I had some issues getting it to work under Windows 10. Windows wouldn't recognize it as a USB device. After power off/on, reboots etc finally i...

Re: Share your errors

I tend to learn from my errors so I try to make as many as I can. Trying to avoid them is pointless I think.

Re: "Best" kick drum synth 2015?

Get that Nicky Romero kick synth thing. It's really good, despite the silly name. I don't think it's that good thb. It's not a synth either, it's sample based. I'm pretty sure it is a synth.. The clicks are samples though. I've had it for some time now. It's good, but still I tend to grab some kick...

Re: Soundtoys Free Little AlterBoy Plug-In

I have the Native v4 bundle, which is a stripped down package. I upgraded to v5 for free and now I have all the plugins including the FX rack! Pretty nice!

Re: Evil Kitten - Breathing Yard

Sounds great. I like the sound design and the mixdown. Later in the track the snare/clap push the kick away a bit, but that might be just me as well.
The arrangement could maybe be a bit more exciting, but now I'm really looking for stuff to moan about. Good job!

Re: What is your Mixdown process once you've finished compos

After composing I set everything to zero and I work from left to right. (Session view in Ableton) Left being kick, sub, etc..right being hats..FX. Leads, stabs, etc are in the middle. My projects are about the only thing in my life that is organized. My last track I mixed into a compressor on the ma...

Re: High Sweep

Thank you guys :)

Working on a more dark thingy now. Will post it up when it's done :)

I agree it needs more "techno" in it.. will try and focus on that in the next track.

But I think I know what you mean. It's a problem I have with every track I make. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.

I can notice the 15k.. after that, nothing :D Tried 2 headphones. One I can hear 15k and the other 14k.

I'm 35 by the way so I guess no damage (which surprises me actually).

Re: Workflow / Composition

I'm still finding the best workflow for me, but right now I just make a 1 bar loop and start with the kick and sub, hats, percussion, leads. I then duplicate it and take stuff away so it leaves me with a basic arrangement. Then I automate stuff and add in fx and other sounds. After that I tweak it h...

Re: Switching Tastes

For the dutch here, I had every "Turn Up The Bass" tape out there :D The early Turn Up The Bass compilations had some good stuff on them! Later volumes not so much, volume 20 starts with a 2unlimited track which isnt even one with a classic line such as "techno techno techno". ( http://www.discogs....

Re: Dark Lab / Studio Thread

- Want a midi keyboard. Looking at AKAI, NI and Novation I can definitely recommend the Akai ones. I have an MPK25 here I bought whenever I want some keys for somewhere on the road. I basically almost never use it, but yeah. Anyway, the key action of those things is really good (and I'm a classical...
