Re: Cliches
Perhaps this week we all open a blank session in our DAW/Sequencer/modular rack form the planet zarg whatever... and decide to make a track that does not contain white noise builds or drops, bregarama verbed kicks, basic channel dubbed out chords, boring long drones or horror film type effects. Or ...

Re: the track that i keep changing
I like it too and I don't feel like it's too long. I agree that the filtered pads could be replaced by something else, but it's already a nice track as is.

It's very good at background music, didn't see the 19 minutes go by listening it while browsing and stuff.

Re: Reaktor only $99 until May 28th
The user library alone makes it worth it if you like to discover new toys.
Also if you were planning to get other NI stuff at some point and got none so far, owning Reaktor gives you access to the crossgrade price on Komplete, just have to wait for a sale on it.

Re: any tips on mixing "broken beat" non 4x4 techno
Couple more tips: Beatmatching broken beats with straight 4 to the floor can help understanding the rythm, as it kinda counts 1 2 3 4 for you. This one is a bit DJ 101 but I know a lot of people who only play 4 to the floor and start discover and using it only when they try to mix less straight stuf...

Re: any tips on mixing "broken beat" non 4x4 techno
Yes broken beats are usually 4/4. One thing that can help is understanding the rythm's starting point, if it's not obvious to you, try to listen to the records while counting a regular 1 2 3 4...

Re: at what cost / where do you draw the line ???
haven't you ever come across music that you didn't like the first time or even first few times that you heard it, but that you really loved afterwards ? Wow, for me this is the music I end up loving for life An album that I buy, and listen, and I end up thinking "what? No no no, I don't get this, w...

Re: 32X-RAW
The volume drops during the breaks and the way some synths get their volume louder sound weird. I think you wanted to do a dynamic mix by bringing some elements to the front at given moments, but in my opinion you overdid it a bit as they sometime sound too loud compared to the other sounds at those...

Re: Trance!
Thanks for the feedback! Yes it's not exactly trance, but got some of its gimmicks like gated voice, rolling bass, snare rolls... Also not very minimal for techno. The mix indeed sounds busy, initially I liked the concept of sounds being here but not really noticeable unless you concentrate a bit on...

Re: How to make acid midi patterns?
After upgrading is when the problem started occurring right?, pretty easy to assume a hardware issue then. Have you actually monitored the cores to see what happens with the D16 stuff running? Or have you checked ram usage whilst they are running? I think too it's probably related to my hardware ch...

Re: How to make acid midi patterns?
Crackling sounds like a soundcard/processing problem. Is your computer powerful enough? Reread the first paragraph of my previous post :P Just got an update on the situation, they're going to check compiler flags to compare Sigmund's to the other ones to check if it isn't what's causing others to c...

Re: How to make acid midi patterns?
did you try re-installing the plugins ? do other plug-ins have the same or is it just the D16 stuff ? did this came with a new version of Live or new version of the plugin ? are you sure it's not soundcard related or just an older computer ? I mean, some of those D16 plugins are big CPU drainers. S...

Re: How to make acid midi patterns?
I love D16 plugins too and have their 303, 808 & 909 emulations, unfortunately after taking a break from Ableton Live to dig a bit Reaper during a few months, they now make the output crackle in Live. That gave me the occasion to see their support is very good as it's been a couple of weeks I've bee...

Re: Ttinga - On Beat WIP
Nice atmosphere, I'm just wondering if it wouldn't be a bit better with a more "subby" bass. After that, that's probably just me but I imagine a fast, short and high pitched synth melody in the background, like an arpeggio, coming in and out, to bring an obsessional mood to the track. But it's alrea...

Thought I'd add one of my classics, well it's not that old, but I was still in techno "discovery mode" back then.

Re: How to make acid midi patterns?
Ha and I forgot to add: if you can use a step sequencer it can usually be a good start, especially if there's a randomize function in it.
