Re: What's going on in Jeff Mills' Moon Area of Influence?

He did that symphony thing for a minute, which I think is just ridiculously stupid. I saw him do this in the Amsterdam concertgebouw with the concertgebouw orchestra. Was pretty good tbh - hearing a 90 piece orchestra do all the strings and orchestra hits along with the drum machine was quite power...

Re: Mix bus EQ/processing best practices

Pultec is a channel eq. It is mono! To find two vintage pultec eqs which would match adequately for master bus processing would be nigh on impossible.

Or have I missed your point?

Re: I got married

With my woman 10 years now or so and we have a little girl in tow. She has told me she's not doing marriage which I'm ok with (but I don't really believe her!) I'm happy, we have our little one, that's marriage in my book .. Same situation for me, but it's 20 years (!) as of last weekend. Though I'...

Re: Hardware recording techniques in relation to mixer, aux send, euro effects, pedals, dry v.s. wet recordings

So if I do it as Amoebe suggest in his hardware way, would you record the wet fx separately from your external hardware modules, and then eq or adjust its voulme in the DAW later? If you're using aux send and return then yes - record the aux return channel for each effect. You can process the retur...

Re: Hardware recording techniques in relation to mixer, aux send, euro effects, pedals, dry v.s. wet recordings

You can't record an effect on each channel individually unless you have a separate instance of that effect for each channel The whole idea of aux send and return is that you can send multiple channels from your mixer to a single fx unit. The aux send signals are summed into (normally) a stereo pair ...

Shakers with swing and saturation could be a good place to start
Absolutely this, but also adjusting the velocity of each hit and then probably some bus compression to get everything pumping nicely helps a lot with the groove too.

I also didn't know this track - what a banger! Thanks 👍

Try this one I found somewhere out there: According H. The social controls that are imposed upon ...

Re: My health is such a mess

What's happened Is that blokes on an internet forum have made off the cuff threats of violence which in any sensible discussion would not be perceived as an actual threat. It's just hot air. Childish and unwarranted? Yep, probably. But an actual threat? Nope. "hot air"? That's a convenient argument...

Re: My health is such a mess

How do you feel about angry vigilantes beating up random Finnish people? Has anyone been beaten up? Is anyone here looking up the guy's details online and booking a flight to Helsinki to get revenge? That's not actually what has happened is it. As a question, it's moot. Cos no one here is going to ...

People have been ignoring the rules in bars since the beginning of the pandemic. Barfunkel decided to chance it anyway, which makes it at last partly his own fault.
This sounds a lot like victim blaming.

Apart from that, we have a littlun, nearly three now so she is just getting the Santa thing and it's nice. Keeps telling us she is getting "A cot with no bars"! Don't know where that came from of but she comes out with some funny stuff. I was never the xmas type, find it depressing mostly, but will...

Well all I got from that is that Peggy Gou is as full of shit as I thought she might be. I read her interview in I:D - the source of that quote. It explains a lot. In other news, this sounded very familiar when I read it earlier https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/11/critics-condemn-saudi-fi...
