Re: Boiler Room Secret Sauce
Isolation is the gift All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine Well there’s good and bad about isolation, one of goodies you mentioned above th...

Re: New Roland Jupiter X/MX / Juno 06A / MC707 / MC101
8 tracks, meh features, shitty price point compared to competition (like the Synthstrom Deluge for example, amazing kit for same price). Roland has become an idiot factory. man, you have no f'ing idea of what you're talking about. you never cease to surprise me with your bull-headed ignorance. "meh...

Re: What modern hardware could you buy for that 'rough' sound?
cheese grater against me ball sack, gets a good 'rough' sound. jokes aside, are old mackies really gone that expensive? I would first suggeset those, as well as akai samples, maybe even a tascam mixer for a really 'rough' sound. but to answer your modern question, i've found SDRR and Airwalker emula...

Re: Another hardware suggestions thread

I started off with an electribe (emx-1 mind you), great fun for just getting started. excuse my ignore if it missed it, but is it your first bit of hardware you're looking for? if so, i'd go for a sampler/synth combo rather than a ...

Re: Cassette Life in 2018
I almost forgot about rewind/fast forward on tapes, and if you wanted to hear a song that was half way into the tape finding it was a nightmare, counting in seconds while it spins through and hoping to fuck you'll land on the song, haha no way I miss that either!!

Re: Let's talk Acid
Loove me some acid, nothing like a good old, well planned trip in nature! A nice long trip every couple of months is good to reset your focus and evaluate your situation.
Oh wait....

Re: Cassette Life in 2018
such a fad, why anyone buys cassettes in 2018 is beyond me. "Oh but lo-fi", yeah yeah, my ball sack also has a nice "lo-fi" sound. I do realise the OP may actually have old tapes from a long time ago, I'm referring to new releases... You can get a really nice full range sound from cassette. It does...

Re: Recommended Spotify Playlists
Also curious what you would define as 'underground techno'. The term made sense back in 80s or 90s when music wasn't as widely available and techno music and clubs were considered as underground but with the Internet now and the popularity of techno I find the label underground doesn't fit so much a...

Re: Subliminal messages in music
I reckon it's a load of bollix too. Why would you want to do it is what I would ask myself. As for the acid trip, that's a result of your brain finding patterns or noticing things that you might not necessary realize in a sober state due to your brain filtering out a lot of information. Even if you ...
