Re: Haven't had enough time to do music lately (short loop)
Interesting approach...so do you load a sample of a track and add some granular synthesis to jump around the sample, then resample from that? Apologies for the seriously late reply. I generally use a euroack modular granular sampler/ mangler or sometimes use the m4l granulator. I tend to just load ...

Re: Haven't had enough time to do music lately (short loop)
Track feels very quiet overall, but that might just be because the kick and bass are mixed too loud. The background pad is also mixed too quiet, it's barely audible unless you really turn up the volume. Yeah I have the problem a lot when I rush mix downs. My listening position isn't balanced in thi...

Haven't had enough time to do music lately (short loop)
Hi all,
Been trying out some new techniques recently mainly using granular sampling to create new percussion sounds and ambient layers. Appreciate any/ all feedback.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Noc Noc - Who's There?
Agree with this. The track itself sounds pretty good but those levels need sorting out. Once that's done it will be easier to provide feedback on the rest of the mix.

Re: First track in years!
Cheers man! Yeah I think you're right, maybe the middle part of the track drags a little bit with only minor developments. I'll try and introduce a couple more elements in the middle just to help it develop better over time. Thanks for the mix tip also I'll try and fix that in the final mixdown.

Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Creativity Experiment
what about sampling from a song that would not usually be sampled from? giving people the option of taking 3 samples and having a short total sample time of 2 or 3 seconds. then there is more individuality to it, and if the samples are placed at the beginnings of the upload, others can see what kin...

Re: The . Sound
I love a bit of tech house! And deep house and well quite a lot of house actually so there are some of us on here who appreciate that sound. What is it specifically you are asking for help with?

Re: Creativity Experiment
In all seriousness, i'd enjoy the cunt challenge more. But then i'm a sample manipulation freak, i'd probably learn more from a pick a synth one, although without resampling the results are bound to be pretty terrible. I see your point. Im just looking at it as another how much can i learn sort of ...

Re: Soundcards
Better is pretty subjective If you are merely using the interface for DAW output then anything with decent drivers will do. This is what i was trying to say. You need to figure out what you want from the interface, fair enough if your recording things then RME and Apogee are the way to go with real...

Re: Creativity Experiment
I had an idea the other day: Make a full track of a sample of one of us saying cunt. THIS. But in all seriousness the original idea was great having sonly a few samples and a few FX. Could possibly do one focused around synthesis where all sounds including drums need to be made within a synth like ...

Re: Soundcards
It depends what you want if your recording you should be looking at something with good preamps (££££ CASH MONEY) but just for monitoring purposes the budget interfaces do fine. Im just running a Focusrite Saffire it does the job for me although the pots are a little dirty these days. Creative labs ...

Creativity Experiment
Wasn't sure if i should post this in the Subsekt Creativity Experiment thread or a new thread. Its probably been posted about a lot but here goes anyway. The subset creativity experiment taught me more about sound design, in one project, than anything I've undertaken before. I think it would be grea...
