Re: Studying Music Technology
a degree by itself will get you nowhere. in the end, it's all about what drive you have. seriously. these days you can pick up skills and technical knowhow from myirad places for free. can you get a degree and succeed? Yes. Can you not get a degree and succeed? Yes. It really comes down to what make...

Re: What Production Technique Are You Enjoying / Rinsing atm
Just found myself doing something else that I thought I'd share.. Know when you are moving notes around in a midi clip.. or adding them etc.. and they sound cool running over the beat but you dont know where to program them. Or to program it properly would involve making a long midi clip with lots ...

Re: So yes, this topic has been made now.
The right wing in this country is wholly separated from reality and they are demographically weak. Trump is a towering dipshit that gains traction with the fascists and ignorant rednecks in this country. I am truly sorry the world has to see him as a representative of anything because he's a fucking...

Re: How do you feel about the 1:30 clips on SoundCloud?
Such short clips don't tell you enough about a song. I like the way Bleep does it, where you get like minute clips but can skip through the entire track and hear the entire thing. Hearing the whole track is super important especially if you're buying vinyl.

Re: Recommend me some cool FX plug-ins !!!!
i like glitchmachines as well. What I really love to use to make crazy shit though is some of the reaktor noise generators, recording them down to audio files, then throwing them into granulator ii and tweaking the shit out of it.

I use my old Mackie HR824s I've had since 2001 (they still rock) and Sennheiser HD280 Pros.

Re: any tips on mixing "broken beat" non 4x4 techno
I find too that it just takes more time to put a mix together using the broken beat stuff as well. It's weird because I remember being able to just mix the shit out of straight 4 to the floor records with nary a thought given and everything sounded great together, yet with the broken beat stuff, I h...

Re: Kultur Industry - Adorno
Thanks! Yeah, I was experimenting in that track with using acoustic drums mixed with really foreign digital sounds, I might go back and play with it and see what it sounds like with more electronic sounding drums. Your music is sounding really damn good too Ttinga.

After a long hiatus from this hallowed corner of the internet and my music ... I'd like to say hello again. Here's the track I never finished that I finally "finished." your thoughts and criticisms as always are much appreciated. Thanks and please let me know what you think. https://soundcloud.com/k...

Re: any tips on mixing "broken beat" non 4x4 techno
It just takes practice. There is usually one rhythmic element you can hang your hat on for the mix, it just requires you not always relying on the 4/4 kick drum every time. You can still pull off massively long and EQed mixes. Hi hats or snare type sounds are usually a good reference point to match ...

great label. and like all great labels some releases are good, some bad. All depends on your taste. In my taste, they have some of the absolute best fucking producers that are making music releasing music on their label. I hope they keep it up.

Re: Clouds: Anyone feeling these guys?
Not my favorite techno, but not bad and I'm sure it would be effective on a dancefloor. unlike everyone who likes the first two, I think the only one that is unique and not too derivative sounding is Gang 49. All the sounds are really old school, which is not bad, but the vocal samples used are bori...

Re: Taking a break from Techno.
I've been on a hiatus for a month or so. It seems that when summer rolls around doing stuff outside takes precedence over locking myself away in the studio.
