Re: Hip Hop - What the fuck happened?
Generally what happened is a bunch of white people in suits took over, you can blame the majors and their marketing execs. All this mainstream shit isn't even about the music anymore its about perfume and clothing lines, brands, bla bla bla If anything the opposite happened, the white people in sui...

I used to tank up on water, and all that did was wake me up all night to piss. Now I just eat a nice hunk of cheese before a night of heavy drinking and try my best not to break the seal too early.

Re: Xone:4D Soundcard in studio
I've found the HD25s and any other headphone engineered in that on ear, closed back, tight fit model give me ear fatigue. They suck at low volume and put out too much pressure at medium volume. It's the design that's flawed for production, or any extended listening, but perfect for DJ'ing. For DJ'in...

Re: Getting started with C, C++
RTFM, it's a way of life. I get rant-y when I have to buy a product with shoddy documentation, then I usually end up sending them crazy emails on either how to improve their documentation, or just writing some for them. Yeah I'm one of those. I don't write C anymore either, lots of python and still ...

Re: Getting started with C, C++
void rewind(FILE *stream); I wish I had the internet when I was learning to program in C. That K&R book can be rather ambiguous at times, or at least seemingly ambiguous if you haven't quite figured out how to read documentation. I'm sure you could write a decent softsynth with Python or Java these ...

Cheap pedals on Monoprice.

They have quality cables for cheap as well. I've used a lot of them, no problems whatsoever.

Re: Asocial - Jordanneke
I agree with Mattias, sad to hear it end like that. I think you could have made the breakdown into the latter part of the track more interesting by bringing in more of the climactic feel instead of basically resetting the pace of the track and then bringing it up. I'd also like to hear brighter stab...

Re: "Detroit" as the new Berlin?
There's already a flood of good acts being imported via NY (Output, Bunker). Michigan is an easy jump which we used to book constantly (NY, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Ontario, Quebec), then have the possibility of going west or going back to Europe. For large names from my understanding it's just...

Re: Calculating the acoustics of a room
Setting up a sound system for a space? Most engineers are only going to tell you about SPL levels or help you find dead zones, basically safety and coverage. Once you are looking beyond a fixed listening position and a certain size of room, then the principles of acoustic diffusion, dampening and th...

Re: "Detroit" as the new Berlin?
There are hundreds of highly acclaimed artists from within a 100 mile radius of Detroit, let alone the entirety of the US.

She seems legit enough, and her release on Paturn is at least on point with the current techno meta.
Got to play with Tony too, good on her!

Re: "Detroit" as the new Berlin?
I've spent a lot of time in Detroit, it's just an hour down the road, I've been going there for about 20 years now. Perhaps it's just the scene and my own personal relationships, but I can't recall even a single racist comment in my time there.

Re: "Detroit" as the new Berlin?
People follow money, Detroit is on the brink of bankruptcy and has the highest rate of unemployment in the US. Ergo people don't move into Detroit.
Being white has nothing to do with it.

Re: "Detroit" as the new Berlin?
The best things that happen in Detroit have never been club events. I'd love to see Tresor in Detroit, but I just think the owner would lose his shirt trying to do something in a gigantic old warehouse like that.
