Re: You thought techno couldn't get any lower? New Kas:st/afterlife track...

I wouldn't call it techno but this is the top post on the reddit techno sub right now so some people think it is and it made me want to vomit.

That's an insult to the SY-1, you could probably get some similar sounds out of it if you tried but it sounds much more interesting than that.

Re: DoubleDrummer - 12-voice drum synth / sample player with

Based on price this could be interesting. Usually not a fan of encoders and these types of displays so it all depends on how good/fast the interface is to use- I would have to be able to see some demos. Looks like the same hardware as micromonsta and looking at demos of that the interface looks pret...

Re: Headphone Amp question

Just having a read about and this one sounds very good from what your saying and it's got good reviews everywhere. So it's their version of the spl. The headphone out is what I'd be using now, having the monitor outputs on it as well is a bonus for when I invest in some speakers again when I have t...

Re: Headphone Amp question

Recommending again the behringer monitor2usb. Paid $135 new and sounds just as good as the $800 SPL and has a nice integrated interface. One of the instances where they got things right and I have no problem having behringer in my chain.

Re: Headphone Amp question

Another option- If you want a great monitor controller/usb dac with good headphone amps I am highly impressed with the behringer monitor2usb. Basically a SPL 2control clone with added DAC for 1/6th the price. Took a chance and it is amazing, and I use the built in compliant usb interface when I don'...

schiit magni sounded pretty good and transparent to me- don't see the point in paying much more than that for a headphone amp

Re: Save 1000's on crackle noises and wibbles

I downloaded it out of boredom since im away from home/studio due to the hurricane. It sounds good, the mutable stuff sounds like mutable stuff- because it is. Never saw the appeal of virtual modular before but I guess it's kind of neat being free. Made it like 25 minutes before I got annoyed with t...

Re: What is some currently interesting/innovative hardware?

I just found out about an interesting drumsynth box coming soon. Partly inspired by the pearl syncussion- by no means a clone but think that kind of workflow with an interesting drum focused synth voice that can do more than drums. Looks really good but not public yet.

it's too bad they don't make the signature 16 in an MTK version. the 22 is a little big and the 12 a little tight on channels. the 16 looks nice and adds another band to the eq

soundcraft signature mtk 12? if you want to get fancier and want a ton of power in a compact package- allen and heath qu-pac is great from what I hear. no physical faders but the qu architecture is great and I love my QU32, the qupac has the same internal engine/power just more done from the touch s...

Grendel Drone Commander? They're re-releasing it in pedal form and should be shipping in a week or two. I think I'm going to get one.

I was critical of this before (for not being a synthi clone) but looking more at recent demos/progress I think this will be very nice as its own thing. Assuming it's reasonably priced I would definitely get one.

Re: Midi splitter/midi thru box

For someone who has never used an mpc- how is it for creating very long midi sequences and working with long audio stems? Having the ability to export an ableton project as stems and be able to mix them on the mpc would be appealing to have as a backup/transition element and would make getting into ...
