Re: Breakbeats in techno - tips and tricks
I set division to 1/8(for start, when I add more breaks I set it different). Then I program the parts of the break with midi, its somehow easier to get something fun for me this way. Yeah I never realised that the classic kinda DnB/jungle kinda cut up break sound is using eg 1/8th slices repeated, ...

Re: Breakbeats in techno - tips and tricks
is it analysing the transient, and then bases it on that?) Yeah I think that it detects the transients (which is what the “transient” setting is for, you could also set this to eg 1/8), then this adds a decaying envelope at every detected transient. So I think it’s like slicing it into a sampler on...

Re: Breakbeats in techno - tips and tricks
Gosh I've not posted here for ages! Hope everyone is well. Happened across this thread and thought I'd share a link to this Masterclass with D.Dan where he talks about how he works with breakbeats: https://www.homeofsound.co.uk/p/masterclass-with-d-dan. There are a few quite interesting bits, it was...

Re: Your thoughts about Izotope Ozone?
PluginBoutique are currently giving Ozone Elements free with any purchase over £1 if you sign up to their newsletter - see https://www.pluginboutique.com/articles/1392. I purchased Air Hybrid 3 for £1 and it actually turned out I already had enough "virtual cash" to get both for free. Probably won't...

Damn that looks like fun! £160 pre-built too, http://www.juno.co.uk/products/bastl-in ... 556336-01/. Very tempting!

According to an Elektron member of staff on Elektronauts, it's sample-only: Digitakt is a sample based drum machine. Each of the 8 internal tracks can play back a sample. https://www.elektronauts.com/t/introducing-digitakt/35326/149 and re: the pad labels: It's a loving throwback to the legending fo...

Re: ---- Elektron User Topic -----
So, long story short, I recently purchased an MD-UW mk1 second hand as my first drum machine after doing a fair bit of research. Unfortunately it got damaged in the post, I was able to get it working again for a short while but then it totally gave up the ghost. Luckily, shipping insurance paid out...

Re: ---- Elektron User Topic -----
Sonic Potion LXR Ooh yeah, I saw that. The self build aspect put me off, I'm not particularly handy or great at finding time for those sorts of things. Perhaps if I saw one pre-built I'd consider it! That Malekko looks interesting, hadn't heard of that before. Any sound samples out there or ideas o...

Hopefully they get some more in stock, quite liked the bits of content I've read and it looks pretty, would be nice to have in my studio area. Wouldn't be quite the same on Kindle!

Re: your gear lists
I've been using Ocenaudio (http://www.ocenaudio.com.br/), it's not bad - certainly a better user interface than Audacity. Nothing else has really floated by boat audio editor-wise - I still miss Cool Edit 2000, best editor I ever used!willemb wrote: - Audacity (any better suggestions for audio editing on mac?)

Re: New Ableton Beta (PDC fix)
Wow, didn't think they'd fix that so soon (well, not soon in the grand scheme of things, but I thought it might not happen til 10). Not that I've ever had issues with it but I know it bothered a lot of people. Will be interested to see if that makes people happy. Glad to see some Push updates in the...

Re: why no playlist?
I might be alone here, but no tracklisting makes me listen to a mix as a whole and absorb it all in context. Sometimes I see a tracklisting and might try and jump to the section with a new track by an artist I like or a bit that looks interesting to me. Yeah man, I know what you mean - I also get p...

Re: Earplug recommend
Been meaning to get a new set of these, was quite pleased with them. Only downside is how much they stick out.
However, then I saw these on CDM: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2014/12/b ... 14-review/ and am tempted to wait for these to be available in the UK

Re: Thee Max 4 Live thread
Your scripts look good, why are they Mac only? I've only scanned the Python very quickly. Anything to help with VST mapping will be a godsend, I hope that it's cross platform. My Python is too rusty to port something myself ;) For the VST mapping one, I just put Mac-only as I don't have the ability...

Re: Thee Max 4 Live thread
Impressive work mate! Only had a quick play but seems rock solid, must have taken some work to build. Nice one. Max is on my to-learn list but the list is getting very long ;) Dunno if it's of interest by the way but on the topic of building geeky stuff, I've been doing some more hacking with Push a...
