Re: Has anyone exp with a Yamaha RMX1
I'm actually in the market for a groovebox atm. For sampling capabilities I have an SP-404 and an MPC. so I've been looking at the electribe emx. however most of the demos I've heard is just cheesy trance stuff. just wondering does anybody have any experience with the emx, and if so what are the sou...

Re: Modular Synth as a VST?
another option is Reason. the architecture of the rack paradigm means the program is pretty much semi-modular already (routing audio and CV signals to various places). however with the introduction of Rack Extensions (Reason's take on plugins) there have been some really cool and interesting Rack Ex...

Re: Reason 7 (New)
although I primarily use Ableton now, I have an awful soft spot for Reason.... I just love the rack paradigm. the entire modularity of the program, combined with its ease of use is amazing. plus there has been some pretty cool Rack Extensions released that open up the CV possibilities within the pro...

Re: FXPansion - Bloom (Creative Delay)
really like this.
looks good, is simple to use and sounds great.
the CPU hit is a bit much tho (like most fxpansion stuff). still gonna grab it. been looking for a nice delay plugin for a while.

Re: subsekt's favourite Plugins
I love all the Valhalla stuff and just recently picked up the most recent offering, VintageVerb. It's quickly become my all-time favourite reverb. I also really like the D16 Silverline collection. other than that I really just use the effects that are built into Reason, Ableton and Renoise. I especi...

Re: So this Ableton Live 9 is coming..
I think the best thing about Ableton (apart from the session view) is the Max implementation. the fact that I can build simple sequencers in Max and have a simple way to integrate them into my setup is brilliant.

Re: Granular synthesis
my favourite granular synth is Granite by New Sonic Arts.
it's cheap, has a very clean interface and can make some fantastic noises.

Re: Ring Modulation
yeah I've always found it odd that there are so few ring mods in VST form. oddly enough my favourite software ring modulator is Synapse Audio RM-1 which is only available for Reason as a Rack Extension.

this is great advice.ICN wrote: Fuck it. Some people will tell ya to take out samples etc.. use them as ideas in new tracks. Fair enough if you think they are good. You should. Otherwise - be honest with yourself. If you can do better - dont look back.

Re: feedback loops
I used to do a lot of feedback noise a couple of years ago. just had a mixer and a couple of cheap fx units.
the whole no input beats thing is pretty dope too (whole thing created from feedback loops)

Re: Native Instruments & Fxpansion - Black Friday Deals.
I've been using FXpansion's Synth Squad for about a year now (my GF got me the boxed version as an xmas gift last year). I use them almost exclusively now. like Mattias stated strobe (and amber!) are just gorgeous for chord and stab sounds. tbh I haven't really dived into cypher that much. I grabbed...

Re: Ocenaudio - free cross-platform audio editor
thank you very much.
I've been using Audacity for ages for my simple edits, but this looks like a much cleaner application. the option to export multiple regions is really nice. the only little problem I have with the program is that I can't get the loop feature to work...

Re: Roland SP-404
I have one. used to use it all the time when making loops for scratching over in my turntablist days. now I mostly use it as an FX processor. the FX on the unit are really cheap and lo-fi sounding which I love. I record almost everything into it and back into my DAW. great for putting simple loops t...
Re: NI Razor
I really love Razor. I work primarily in Reason and NI happen to make the only two synths that I leave the Reason environment for (FM8 & Razor). I love the clean digital sound of both synths. and like you said the GUI of Razor is a joy to work with.
